Quick Questions and Answers

Is it possible to have historically accurate starting locations in Civ 5? I want Egypt starting in Egypt, not in South America.

Is it possible to continue playing a multiplayer saved game on your own in singleplayer mode?

The game lets me continue to play if all of the other human players leave the game and are replaced by the AI, but if I save and reload it later in singleplayer, it only lets me do one turn and then it is waiting for the other human players who aren't there, so it won't get to the next turn.

It is there a way to get it to work/allow me to play on?

Thanks,
MM

So after 8yr + of lurking, I have a question:

I pretty much skipped Civ 3 and Civ 4 and after playing Civ 2 for 15 years, I now have Civ 5.

One thing that is really annoying is that Civ 5 only seems to play in a full-screen mode compared to Civ 2 playing in a window that could be minimized and etc.

Since I have dual monitors, it would be very helpful if I could run Civ 5 in a window as well so I can check email and etc on my second monitor.

Is this possible?

To switch to the windowed mode, uncheck "fullscreen" in the video options.

my xlm units files on the settler line does not have <cost>
i want to put cost -1 so is no settler in a scenario
any body have a way to no have settlers?

Just a minor addition: flying units can move over NWs and - suprisingly - subs can move over the barrier reef

Natural wonders give +1 happiness when they are discovered by you. The only benefit of settling near them it so you can work the decent 2:c5production: 3:c5gold: un-improvable, impassable tile (equivalent to a trading post improved riverside hill tile). There is no additional happiness benefit for "having a city near" as suggested in the game documentation.

Hi everyone this is my first time posting on this forum. I have a fairly simple question. Is there anyway that I can use a mod when playing multiplayer? I feel like mods like the Hundred Years’ War would be really fun way to play against a friend but in the Civ 5 menu there is no multiplayer under the mod tab and no mod under the multiplayer tab.

I haven't played V yet, does each leader have a theme like in IV?

Each Civ has an individual trait (eg. Aztecs gain culture for enemy kills) and 2 unique units/buildings. However, there is only one leader per civ.

How does the bonus from the Hanging Gardens work? Does it instantly add +1 to the population in each city when it is built, for a one time effect like Great Library?

I've played a lot of games, and built it several times, I just haven't paid much attention.
