Quick Questions / Quick Answers

Someone could answer me please, does Huge map size scale with the number of civs on it, or it's fixed for 12 civs (which is default)? (for example is a Huge map bigger for 20 civs than for 12?) [if it has been asked and answered before pls forgive me]

When I played Huge, I did 18/36 or 17/35 when playing one of the base mapscripts and 20/40 if Tectonic or one of the other modded mapscripts. 12/24 is waaaaaay too much empty space.

Thank you for your answer, I played as well with 22 civs before, but my question is that is the map actually bigger if you're playing with more civs? (than the default 12)

Oh, I misread the question. I don't have any hard evidence, but the amount of empty space I've gotten when I tried 12/24 or even 16/32 would imply to me that it doesn't. I do know that Tectonic at least can randomize itself into tiny amounts of land, where it ends up a OCC for everyone, if it scaled, that would guarantee more I think.

Hi guyz, I read somewhere the difficulty levels scale differently in Vox Populi (like, Vox Populi's king is the base game's Deity [regarding AI buffs], or something like that)...so I was wondering, are there any recommended difficulty settings?

One or two difficulty levels below where you usually play is fine imo. You need to get used to the new mechanics and everything. I don't think the game is necessarily harder.

it buffs in different ways. so it is not necessarily vanilla deity = vp prince. in vanilla,it buffs by giving ai more settler and starting resource. while in VP, ai only get extra starting warrior, scout, and worker(maybe some gold). and VP greatly enhance AI decision making and war skill. not like vanilla where AI is often doing stupid things.

Hi, I'm new to this mod and am playing my first game. Do all of the pantheon beliefs work? I picked Goddess of Purity but I don't see the additional yields on the city tiles.

Thanks to both, got the picture a bit more clear now.

The game send the desired siz to the map script (ie "huge" or "small"). Then, the map script do his job alone in its own corner, so:
- two maps from 2 different mapscript may have a different size even if you select the same in the menu.
- two maps from 2 different mapscript may have a different % of land even if you select the same sea level in the menu.
=> answer is "it depends". Test (ie, start a game, reveal the map (via a cheat), if there are too many room increase the number of ai.

small question,

how do great person pool separated in VP?

i notice that my great merchant needed point is not the same with my great scientist and engineer.
which pool does great diplomat goes to?
and in vanilla, i remember that free great person without option do not increase next GP point, while GP with selection(eg Mayan UA) increase next GP point needed. how does it changed in VP?

Each GP type has a personal pool.

Is it suppose to be the case when playing as Attila, taking the Authority Tribute policy (Cities gain 30 gold and 30 food when their boarders expand) that I do not receive any gold or food for the bonus boarder growth I get from Attila's UA. I feel cheated.

You get it from the initial pick, not the bonus picks.

Would be absolutely insane, don't you think? :p

Perhaps. I still cant help feeling cheated tho.
I lose out on gold and food in the long run simply by selecting a policy branch one would naturally be drawn to to given The Huns strengths.
I also realise getting upwards of 120 gold/food 2 or 3 times per city so early could be problematic given the The Huns strengths.
It just seems like an awkward interaction.

Do you take a diplo hit when you complete a trade that's listed as "acceptable" instead of a +/-? Also, do you gain a diplo boost if you complete a trade that's listed as "+#" for the AI?
