Quot Capita: Majesty

You will have to be more specific. Where is your game installed? What kind of game were you playing before the freeze happened?

That sounds very unusual because none of the civs you listed are in the game in their orginal Beyond the Sword forms.

It is installed in my Program Files folder in the BTS Mods folder. I was playing Ron's QC Standard World Map. The game was ran as an Administrator with my cache cleared. I also have Revolutions enacted that will spawn new nations.

Actually, the problem is with the scenario map itself. Not the mod.

Most of the scenario maps are missing key tag lines at various locations. Mostly in the civ_dll and global_defines dll. I noticed that when I was working on my alpha test for my GEM, which set me back quite awhile in order to debug.

My recommendation would be to ignore any of the scenario/custom scenario maps for now, and just use custom games set up ( more fun and options that way), Big and small, custom continents, and archipelago are just some of the fun choices. There are many more.

As to the Scenario maps, It's going to take quite awhile to debug and clean them up. So if anyone has some free modding time, by all means, please jump in and assist. I'm not sure how much free time SOG has, but mine is practically minimal at best, so that's the best I can offer at this time. Sorry.

Testing the latest version. I will release it as soon as I know its playable.

I will be releasing the legendary civs I mentioned in a future release, wanted to give something to my players.

Drak hows it going with the scenario? Do you have a world map ready to go?

Base map was fairly easy to make, with the exception of Atlantis. I believe I have it situated correctly, and instead of worrying about all the coding, I simply made it static. I'm going to run another set of AI auto-play in the next day or so, and then see how it looks. If all goes well, 'll upload, and see who wants to try out some Beta tests and give feed back.

I've noticed that early in the industrial period, some civilizations seem to make a huge leap in technology. I'll be busy building railways and notice that other civs have grav tubes.

I've posted an example of the Harappan civilization who have Fission. We haven't even discovered flight yet.

Is there a bug in the tech tree or am I a worse player than I thought?

Yup, caught that as well. There is an issue with the game speed in relation to the research rate, which I have been unable to locate yet. <sigh> lol, back to alpha tests for GEM.

SOG, can you debug game speed vs tech rate and see if you can find anything? otherwise, it's goin to be a rather long search to find the wrong tag lines.

I'm not sure it is a game speed vs. tech rate thing. It seems like some civs are getting early access to a tech the rest of them don't get, like the tech is out of order on the tech tree just for them which then gives access to other techs further down the tree.

The above example shows Telegraph and Continuous Track, which makes sense for early Industrial. But how did they get Fission? That's what I can't figure out. If it was a timing thing, you'd think all the techs would be advanced, not just the one.

King, can you give me a SS of your VC screen? The one that has map conditions, game speed, VC conditions, etc? I think it's F9? The one with the fist, lol. That might help me narrow things down a bit.

Well, I'm on marathon speed when I noticed King's issue. Curious to know what his game speed is to see if it correlates. The problem is, that the bug could be in any number of areas, Civs, tech rate, game speed, etc. Additional data always helps track the problems down.

Very true Drak. I've become very experienced in dealing with bugs myself working on this mod...and the one thing you always need to know is what is causing the bug, and that is not always easy to determine.

Anyways, some news. I will be getting a new computer soon, so I will be uploading the next version of this mod soon.

It features:

-More bugfixes(smaller ones)
-Designed unit upgrade paths.
-New Civilizations:

-The Greeks have been split into Athens and Sparta, each with two leaders and two unique units.
-The Philippines have been added, with the awesome unit art of Bakuel of coarse.
-The Knights Templar and the Knights Hospitalier have been added, both have a unique mechanic: They can spread their orders, even into other civilization's cities via two new medieval "corporations".

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do I install this mod? The readme says to use the installer, but there doesn't seem to be one - just an uninstaller. I tried dragging everything into the BTS mods folder, but it doesn't show up.

I used to play Quot Capita back in the day, and reinstalled Civ4 just to play this version, but I'm stuck! Am I missing something obvious?

Thank you in advance :)

As requested...

My bad bro. I should have been more specific. I need the SS from your settings tab, you currently have a SS of your VC tab. Apologies for not being more clear.

On a side note, there is a definite bug somewhere in the game speed vs tech speed, just haven't found it yet.

Yeah..there is no installer for this version.

This should help:

Installation Instructions:

Place the contents of the RaR file(the Quot Capita foldier) in Beyond the Sword/Mods/

Load the mod by loading up Civ4 Beyond the Sword and selecting "Advanced" then "Load a Mod", and select this mod to load. It may take awile, due to the mod's size.

Cheers - I tried that too, and it didn't show up in my mod list. I'll have another go, maybe I've done something dumb. Thanks!

The easiest way to get the mod up and running;

1) Extract the mod to your desk top.
2) Open your file explorer ( shrink as necessary) to your BTS mods folder
3) Click and drag QC mod into your mod folder
4) Start BTS, and select QC mod.
5) Enjoy, eat snacks, drink your beverage of choice :mischief:

This PSA instructional install tip brought to you by an old cranky dude who has installed way to many mods through out this games 10 year run :hatsoff::woohoo::wow:.
