Alot of the civs had similiar outfits to others already in the game, like the Thai compared to Khmer for example. That is why I set them to use already existing civ unit graphics. Civs like benin will be updated if ever new unit graphics become available though.
 
Thought I had it figured out but just tried to purge non-state religion and there's no purge button. Game was complete new install (Civ 4, patch;BTS,3.19 patch;QC 8.1)

Inquisitions Enabled; Theocracy Civics; Revolution index at 1383; State Religion is Present in target city. What's the problem???????????????

Please help
 
Just loaded up the mod, but when I check out the tech tree after the start, 1/4 of it is already filled in. I have my two starting techs noted inthe first pop up, but on turn 1 when I click on the tech tree it is heavily populated already. I dont' have advance start checked either.

Am I doing something wrong or is it because I am playing at Noble level that it is auto populating a crap load of techs as already discoverd?
 
hopefully avain is continuing it. He did a great job with the new version. It is at a good place now.

Agreed, it is quite good. But He hasn't posted in roughly 6 weeks, and if this thread is typical, he's been one of the more interactive modders, working closely with players.

Hence my question. :)
 
Is it possible to add turns to Marathon? With the addition of Primative that this Mod includes, it takes many turns to get to what would normally be the start of the Marathon game. So, it can be 25% through marathons 1500 turns before getting to the normal start.

Feel like we need to add a few turns to the marathon (and other) speeds to accomodate for the longer start of Primative. I know there is an odessy setting, but that would make all the builds take longer too.
 
theres oddessey and legendary if you want a longer game. Trust me they address what your concern is Scoottr. I just got threw a game on legendary speed and there were still 300 turns left by the modern era, I quit because I had already lost by then it was obvious lol.

An example of this close to my own heart is the Aussie Civ. Avain did a superb job merging the Aboriginal units with one or two more of the modern Aussie ones, but when push comes to shove a merged Aussie civ will have it's share of cross-civ unit art because it's historically been so closely linked with Britain e.g. fighter (spitfire), MBT (Centurion), Trench Infantry and I imagine a lot of the ship models. I sent Avain a really great model for an Aussie modern infantryman that SIMPA was using in his Nations at War mod, but I think he went on his break then.

At the end of the day it's very much about blending the right balance of existing art vs new art so that the civ has a good overall representative feel.
 
That is a great post Anton and I definitely agree with you about the civ unit art. I know where strategy was coming from, but I don't really feel it is nessasary to include units that would look similiarly to what we already have seen, rather if a Civilization is in the same area why not have them use the same units where appropriate.
 
As someone else mentioned in a post about a year ago, with a much older version, the Light Tank is getting tons of promotions in my game. Say 19 extraneous promotions, assuming the Blitz promotion is supposed to be there. Many of them are not even applicable to its unitcombat type.

(Which seem ridiculous - why not just put the new stuff in the second one into the first UnitInfo? Keeping all the info for a unit in one place would be vastly superior.)

So did anybody ever figure out why this happens and how to fix it?

Edit: By the way, these are all listed for it in the Civilopedia too.

The Panzer Maus has not available the Bomb-ranged option even if you activate it via BUG despite it is show as an unit ability.

FIX:

Hi mate, yep that was me having those issues :)

I'm not sure what I did to fix it. I tried clearing Custom Assets and the Cache, that didn't work. I tried a reinstall, that didn't work.

Strangely enough it DID fix itself when I moved my laptop build from XP to Windows 7, which again required a full reinstall of Civ and QC. I'd suggest maybe in progressing order of badness...

1) Clear Cache and Custom Assets (easy)
2) Uninstall and Delete all QC content and try again (medium pain the backside)
3) Uninstall and Delete all Civ 4 content and try again (Bigger pain in the backside)
4) I don't recommend reinstalling Windows or changing O/S's just to fix a game bug ;)

But yeah, try the first step, and maybe the second. It's definitely not an issue with Avain's code, that much I can tell you from personal experience. :)
 
Are all victory conditions gone except mastery in this mod? I looked at the vicotry screen and don't see Conquest, Domination, Cutural, etc...just where I rank in the new Mastery victory condition
 
If Mastery is enabled, it overrides all the others. Turn it off if you want any of the others to work - Custom Game, over in the rightmost column down in the options section.
 
This mod is utterly fantastic!! I just have one problem. I have this message that keeps writing on the top center part of the game screen, where most of the messages appear. It will read "Bug Options - failed writing .INI file(long path)......Autolog.ini.

Also, I'd like to change the spread rate of the religions. I've tried changing the values in the religion XML file, but when I do that, the game won't run. Is there another file I also need to change, or is it just as simple as that?

on the autolog/bug options message you keep getting, I assume your playing on windows 7, in which case running the game as an adminstrator will help fix that. Just right click the shortcut if you have one, and select "run as adminstrator".
 
Hi all... I have a problem:

When I boot the QC modpack, it's title screen appears devoid of text. There are no visible menu options for me to click on.

1) Yes, I have BTS v3.19
2) Yes, I did install in the proper directory
3) Yes, English is my default language choice
4) Yes, I have tried installing BUG as a main-mod, and an optional mod

This problem has arisen on multiple modpacks: LoR, QC, ROM:AND. A common feature of all 3 is that they incorporate BUG features (I think).

Could someone help me out? I've tried everything, and I am unable to play this, and other (aforementioned) modpacks... it's REALLY frustrating!!
