R.E.D. WWII: Concepts & Suggestions

Indeed, i have the 1.051 patch.. How can i check my files with steam?

I'm sorry, but i'm kinda dumb in that case :(
 
ok, I'm playing on Deity, it's mid 1943 and I've held France(as Germany) for awhile now with only a few minor beach landings here and there that I take out quickly. I got ran out of Norway(started late) by the Brits, i'm on the doorstep of the Greek capital, and Moscow is mine along with Leningrad.

Russia seems to be folding. Is there gonna be some kind of surprise? The terrain turns to snow and a huge counter offensive? If I continue to win in Russia, the Brits stand no chance.

Overall great scenario!
 
Erm, it says you can play as America but I'm not seeing the option? Not to mention, I can't even start the game. I click 'start game' but nothing happens.
 
Hey this this my lua.log from my game. I loaded a save from Joseph Stalin at turn 2 in the wwii 1942 map. When I clicked end turn, it crashed after a few combat animations. This also happens at turn two of all other games.

No surprise yet, sorry, they'll come when I implement more operation :)

American are playable on the 1942 and 1936 scenario.

If you can't even start the game, see a few post above, someone has the same problem, try to check your installation files and post your lua log (see first post, troubleshooting)

thanks for the log, but nothing indicating why it has crashed here.

does the mod work on smaller map ? (try Stalingrad)
 
yes, it works on the Stalingrad map but not on other ones. However, I had started a game already as Stalin in the RED WWII map without the eastern seaboard. That one worked well and Im on turn 50 something now. That is the only game that works besides the Stalingrad map.

v.271 (Jun 08, 2012):
- Bugfix : retreat feature was broken by vanilla game bugfix.
- Bugfix : new ArtUnits system was making all units shown as spearmen.

v.27 (Jun 06, 2012):
- Update : upload to steam workshop.
- Bugfix : initialization problem when both side have human player.
- Bugfix : Germany should send reinforcement to UK after Seelöwe is launched.
- Balance : embarkation defense against air unit raised to 200%.

There is 2 known issues because of the new order in some events in the game engine : units can't escape from captured cities, and the AI can't know if an air attacks on a city resulted in an interception or not. The later could screw the re-basing function of interceptors (but neitheir of this issues cause fatal crashes)
 
The Steam update (even had it set to 'not update games') ruined my current game and just crashes on load, it really kills the urge to play more (well almost anyways :) )..
 
so Gedemon any ideas as to how to solve my random crashes? (btw it only happens on turn 2, not before for some reason.
 
My game crashed after ending the first turn with the new patch and version 27..
Also my old saves are not loadable anymore. Help please :-)
 
sadly the new civilization patch is not compatible with previous savegame.

about crash on first/second turns : on which maps ?
 
The 1939 map with germany, tried playing without the AI override, didn't help..

thank you for the log, but I've no idea why it crash from it.

can you make another log, this time not from a saved game, but from a total new game, from setup screen to the time it crash please ?
 
Wonderful mod I have to say, I just had to make Civfanatics account to comment here :D !

I have encountered a bug with navy units... As I am France, when I attack enemy Cruiser or Battleship it works good, I damage him and he me, But when enemy attacks my Battleship or Cruiser with his Battleship or Cruiser the battle between them takes around 1-2 minutes: Enemy Battleship attacks my Battleship, my Battleship attacks his Battleship and so on... Don't know if this happens with submarines too. :confused:

By the way, I noticed in the Deveploment thread someone suggesting playable Finnish nation, are you working on that? And may I help in someway (Don't know nothing about lua stuff :crazyeye: )

Got to say that this WW2 mod is the best out there, at the moment!

First of all, thanks to the team and Gedemon for the Mod/Scenario. Awesome for all of us who love to play WW2.

I have been playing the previous version, until the Fall of France, when the script crashed my laptop. Due to I was playing as Germany before nothing happened, but I didn't uncheck the script option when I decided to try USSR.

After that crash I have to reload everything including steam and Civ5 (BTW nice real big crash :p) and now the mod as well. I downloaded the mod from the CFC database. I guess I have the last Civ5 version as steam upgrades my game version automatically.

The problem I have is that only spearmen and swordmen appears instead of the correct units. I followed the steps indicated before reporting a bug, meaning, cleaning the cache and so on. I'm attaching the lua.log, advice?

I'll have a try at all scenario to see if the new civilization patch has broken more thing that I though, but this may take some time... And G&K is coming too... I may not want to put too much effort in fixing things that may be fixed when Firaxis release another patch.

Strange, does it happens in hotseat mod or normal game ?

In the first or second post of the development thread, I've listed all things needed for a new civs.

For Finland we have units and speech, we still lack texts and 2D art (loading and diplo screen).

The version on CFC is not compatible with the new patch, I've updated on the steam workshop a compatible version.

I'm leaving the old version on CFC because some may have not updated civilization to last patch (there are issues with it, and some features of R.E.D. WWII have been broken by it), and the new version of the mod can't be used with previous version of civilization.

So if you've updated civ, go on steam workshop and subscribe to the mod there.


On a global note, here are some of the broken feature with the new patch :
- retreating from cities is no more possible
- limit tile flipping on city capture on Stalingrad map is not working anymore, and tile capture have some issues
- some combat texts are not shown
- AI override for fighter may be partially broken

As I said, I'll wait for G&K and/or a patch for the patch before putting to much time in restoring those.
 
You should make a Cold War mod. It would be the greatest thing ever if you did.

I'd like a Red Storm Rising scenario, I may work on one once we have enough modern units made.
