Rant: can't catch up with all the rants! [pissed]

I keep going "I want to play a video game." but then I look at my choices and I just don't. Then I go back to work.

I'm choosing work over play. What's wrong with me?

You become adult?

Addiction.

I started taking caffeine this past month and the success rate of it providing energy is pretty low, and there doesn't seem to be a real rhyme or reason to when it does work. 17 attempts with 3 successes, same caffeine amount each time, two different time slots split evenly. All 3 successes have been at night, which is non-ideal. It doesn't impact my sleep, but I don't like getting the energy boost at the end of the day. I'd rather pair it with my taurine after I wake up but all attempts at that time slot have been a failure.

No addiction concerns. Before this month I'd been caffeine-free for 400+ days, if not much longer. And the amount I'm taking isn't much of a concern: 90 mg over 60 minutes.

Hence wishing there was a way to predict whether or not it would do anything. An 18% success rate isn't worth the continued investment. But that there even exists a success rate makes me hesitant to give up.

If it's via pills, then it could be absorption issues, and could be connected to what you ate.

Dissolved in water (90 mg in 200 ml). I'm considering dissolving it in orange juice instead like I do with my taurine and seeing if that changes anything. Not sure that would have any appreciable impact, but I suppose the attempt can't hurt.

I don't just post that to be fun, though, I've also drank it and it's the only energy drink that actually energizes me. Others have, as you stated, simply delayed sleep. Also, some flavors are pretty tasty.

The tyrosine in it is of some interest... I can only find that in pill form. :( That caffeine content, though. It's a bit much.

Lethal dose is what, 1,000? 350 ain't no thang

just don't make it a double

I wouldn't suggest taking caffeine to give yourself more energy. You're not going to get the kind of energy you need, and you also get diminishing returns over time (until you're eventually just taking caffeine to avoid caffeine withdrawal)

My first suggestion would by to try some yoga: just doing a simple cat-cow and downward facing dog routine will do wonders for your energy. Just spent like 10 minutes on it, and focus on your body's breath and energy.

Also drink lots of water: caffeine is a diuretic, and dehydration will make you feel sluggish. Keeping up with your water can help you avoid this.

Get your sleep! Please make sure you're getting a solid eight hours each night, and if you need to during the day a little power nap can help you feel refreshed.

Lastly, take a walk outside! Exercise, fresh air, and sunshine will boost your mood and your energy levels.

I'm sorry you're going through this :( I hope you find your energy secret! :)

I can't tell if yoga is real (because excersize/endorphins certainly are real) or if it's just like new age crystals nonsense. I mean, I'm certain it helps with lots of things, just not sure about giving you energy :hmm:

A big part of yoga is breathing ... your breath exercises combined with opening up your body stimulates your nervous system.
