In high school one of my teachers asked me to troubleshoot a computer that wouldn't turn on. I reached over and plugged in the power cord.

There was a white guy on the street today shouting about how it's inevitable that Trump is going to win next year and that there's nothing we can do about it.

Okay, weird flex.

But he went on to say that this means we should "embrace it."

Another white guy stopped and said, "Hell yeah, for sure, dude!"

I'm noting the skin colour because this guy was shouting this stuff in the middle of a Punjabi and Chinese market. A few people were looking on nervously.

Guy goes on. We should join Trump, start pushing out the people who "don't deserve to be here." An old man in a turban asks him what he means. Guy points at him and says, "We should get rid of people like you. No offense, but you don't belong."

This starts a commotion. People start yelling at him. He yells back. He gets the other white guy to join in. It's two white guys shouting at a group of Indians, calling them "turban rats" and saying they can't wait until it's legal to literally hunt them down (verbatim: "I can't wait until we can hunt all you turban rats.").

White guy who originally started it gets punched. Other white guy gets on his bike and speeds off.

Cops show up. White guy who got punched gets happy. Says that the guy who punched him is "gonna get strung up." The two cops who get out are women. And, *gasp*, one of them isn't white. White guy visibly deflates and decides to just run away. Cops stand there for a moment to decide if it's worth chasing him. They decide it isn't. They ask what happened, they get told, and they stick around for a couple minutes to make sure the guy doesn't come back.

So sad that that man's free speech was censored by the radical left.

But also, this is a rant because a) he received no consequences beyond that singular punch, and b) this is Canada. It's embarrassing to have stuff like this happen here. It'd be embarrassing in the US, but doubly so here.

I mean, you can call me a liar. I don't see what I gain with my story if it's a lie. I explicitly say he got off scott free and there were no consequences. I didn't say anything about my own actions because I didn't do anything, I was a useless bystander. What agenda did I advance beyond personal disappointment in the existence of far-right public activism?

When you need to get ready to go out, and your cat jumps up on your chest and aggressively demands loving time, purring extremely loud.

I have two choices: 1) miss my appointment, or 2) displease my master. I'm in a no-win scenario.

It's cute she wants to kiss my face, but not when I just got my makeup set!

I never wear makeup. The only time when Maddy wasn't allowed face-washing time was after my eye surgeries when I had to wear a plastic shield over my eye. The surgeon was horrified when I mentioned that my cat sleeps with me and he said, "Don't let her do that for the next 10 days". So Maddy had to be banished to her room (where the litter box is).

They should have arrested him. That's hate speech, and there's no lack of witnesses.

Openly, publicly inciting violence toward specific ethnic groups is a violation of Canada's hate laws. This jerk should have been arrested and charged.

However, the cops in BC are slow to respond to things like this, and most of them don't give a damn at all if it happens to be a native woman who gets victimized.
