Rant: Mr KB hasn't been using his breathe right strips when he goes to bed, so he's been snoring something awful. When he's wearing his strip he at least snores softly enough that my sound machine can block it out, but last night he kept waking me up constantly. I had to take a two-hour nap yesterday afternoon because I haven't been getting enough sleep.
He's also failed to give me a baby after almost five months. I know I shouldn't start worrying until after a year, but I'm impatient ... plus, my sister literally was pregnant barely a month after she got married.
I've decided to take today off from work, I'm just too tired. I have tickets to see Frozen 2 tomorrow, maybe I'll go see A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood today?
Yeah I was stagnating there so I think it'll turn out for the best. I'm mostly just disappointed with my direct supervisors, they handled it in the most cowardly way possible...none of them were even in the office, and we got fired by the HR director and chief counsel.
Yeah, that sucks. Whenever I had to let people go I always did it myself. Once HR told me they would handle it but I convinced them to let me do. An employee at least is owed that.
Maybe you can come over to the dark side and join a management team.

I'm planning to apply for a couple of different positions in the Bernie campaign today, also a temp job at the American Federation of Teachers, and intend to leverage my contacts from college to see what else I can find (while also scouring the internet for job openings). I also already (actually, Wednesday, the day before we got laid off) started looking at masters degree programs for social science and public policy.

Me too unfortunately. One of my classmates lived in the apartment above me but thought she lived above someone else. One day she complained about how loud that other tenant was when he snored and they could hear him through their floor. It made me cringe and feel really bad but I had no control over it.
It got a lot better when I cut back drinking, stopped smoking and lost a bunch of weight. Like a lot a lot
Gave my sandwich press a test spin today. It went a lot faster than I expected (rave). The reviews said it takes at least 15 minutes just to heat up, and then the heat level itself is low. But it got to cooking temps within two minutes. Gave my sandwich a golden brown texture after three minutes in the press.
It was... mediocre. Wonder bread doesn't seem to work very well. The texture and taste of it is off. The cheese was unnoticeable. The meat was okay. I could have kept it in the press for an extra minute, but the first test run is what I would consider a failure. I did not use tomato or anything else this time.
Still, the speed of it is promising. My motivation plummets further and further in direct correlation with how long something takes, and knowing it'll take ~10 minutes instead of ~20+ is nice.
