the friqqin upload system crashed

Nope, some dweeb hacked it :( Deleting a HELL of a lot of stuff. Thank god it hits the cIVers most where I don't dwell

This country saddens me. Nobody knows what they're talking about when it comes to running the country, and most of them spout off campaign slogans.

Favre is retiring. He could have played one more year.

I can't believe how the 2 train is more crowded when I get on at Park Place headed for Brooklyn at 8:45 than it is at 7:45. It's the difference between comfortable seat space and fighting my way past people who didn't realize the doors opened up behind them.

(Yes, I know, it can get packed late night due to theatre and/or bar crowds, but that's different.)

Why must I travel all the way to London to have an interview for an American Visa? It's bad enough the travelling costs of going to London are going to make me weep a little inside, but I can't take my phone with me (security reasons) so god help me if I get lost, I can't take my MP3 player with me (security reasons) so I'm going to be bored stiff on the way down, I can't take a bag with me (security reasons) so I run the risk of losing the documents I have to take with me, and if I lose them the whole thing is an exercise in futility <breathe>

I have to arrive there for 11 am, which means an early rise for me, but I'm not allowed to arrive any earlier than 10:30, and they even specifically mentioned that I have to wait outside "despite adverse whether conditions" which leads me to believe that there's going to be a blizzard the day when I have to go,depsite it being in April (fate's just got an odd sense of humour when it comes to me)

Still, at least it gives me something to rant about- and that's the important thing (I think...)

I flew something like 26 hours (well, 26 with the number of hours of waiting in the airport, which weren't as much as usual, actually) yesterday, and at the end, when I was incredibly tired (I won't get into details about how "great" it is to wake up at 1:30 AM to catch the plane and then being still on "Tuesday" for 30 waking hours since then ;)), I finally arrived in Texas, were I need to be.

So I arrived, and they tell me I have to be last to get off the plane, because I'm an unaccompanied minor... ok, no problem. I do that, and when I get in the airport this crazy Mexican woman from the airport staff comes to me and says "Come with me!! Don't leave anywhere! Don't run! Come exactly after me! Come!", and she starts walking through the airport. Obviously I had no intention of running whatsoever, I was calm and a bit amused, but she didn't seem to notice.

She said they don't have enough papers to let me go, because they can't know for sure if the name of the person I say is going to wait for me is actually the correct name.

So they put me in this small LOCKED ROOM, with a CODE both from the inside and the outside, unable to do anything, knowing I have to pick up my other bag, and with no possibility to contact the guy who was supposed to wait for me.

After waiting something like 45 minutes, I was literally feeling like a prisoner!! Then this woman came back, she told me "we paged the guy, he will probably show up" and said "Come!!" (and even if I was less than 40 cm from her, she was still always looking over her shoulder to make sure I was there, every 3 seconds or so), again taking me through all the corners of the airport.

Well, believe me, being in such a situation for almost 1 hour and a half, after 26 hours of flight and 28 hours of Tuesday, you don't feel good at all. That woman was paranoid, and I was all around treated like an illegal!! I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Spoiler :
And on top of all that, I couldn't get my bag. My bag is in Atlanta, I'm in Texas. Tomorrow I have a guitar competition. I don't have ANYTHING with me, not even the pills I had to take for my cold, or my guitar scores... So on top of that all, my throat is still sore, and my nose is running.

I apologize on behalf of my country:( I'm really sorry, though to e hones you should have told her to screw off when she tried to lock you up. At least that's what I would have done.

I've had a cold since Saturday, and the only thing I've had to eat or drink is toast and tea.

Probably why you still have a cold.

That was so tempting to do!! I was about to do it twice... But I realized that already the whole airport was watching me like I was some kind of extraterrestrial, and I didn't want any more problems so I just waited.

AND I didn't realize that the room can't be open from the inside until I actually tried to get out, so thinking it was just a place to wait, I had no problem with it at first...

Oh and another thing that contributed to the total confusion was that I had 3 flights to get here, so the transatlantic flight was from Amsterdam, and everyone was speaking about me as "the Dutch guy, the minor", and when I tried to tell them I was not actually Dutch, and I just happened to fly from Amsterdam, the little Mexican woman was about to explode!
