Random Rants IX: I'm Mad As Hell, And I'm Not Gonna Take It Anymore!

hence why you are in Random Rants.....which reminds me

Why in the world do people fall for scams? just makes more junk mail for the rest of us.

28 hours. That is the amount of lapsed time between picking my car up from the mechanic (after further draining my bank account, which now has 1/3 of what it did when I bought the fool thing) and the check engine light coming on.

Its a sad day when you find out your laptop is not good enough to play blu-ray.

It really bugs the hell out of me when I spend time to tag Album art to each file and put the image in the albums folder only to have the album art showup as blank on my mp3 player. It bugs me moreso for being a meticulous music snob.

It happens. Just shrug it off and keep going. Not easy, but that's part of life. :( I lost all my respect for The History Channel as a credible source of information after a similar incident.
well... it was the best I can do, it just seems soo crazy that they can get away with THAT on TV but if you say something to even slightly insult certain other groups you get a HUGE law suit and scandal on your hands

seriously, this was open propaganda telling their church members to find Mormons, tell us we're wrong and try to bring us to Christ by avoiding talking about our doctrine (because people usually get frustrated they can't win that argument)

it didn't make sense
Are you sure yours was a good rebuttal? :mischief:
I'm quite sure, as all their arguements for why their idea was right were proved useless and false by my statement.

I guess I couldn't be 100% sure that it was a PERFECT argument, but it better answered the question than how the people on TV were.

anyway.... new complaint...

I JUST got home from an Academic team meeting.... its 10:30 at night.... I HAVE HOMEWORK!!!

If you're on the bleepin' academic team I don't think you should have to do any homework.

thats what I say... well... that in essence.

I say something more like "I've already proved my intelligence, so I don't feel I have to reprove it with all this extra homework and mindless busy-work in school"

I've come close to asking my guidance counselor if I can "test out" of Hon. US History 1 for AP US History, but I don't think they have those tests... I think they're reserved for languages

At my school if you get a certain grade on the AP test you get the same credit as if you had taken the whole class. Of course that's much harder but I know at least a few people did it last year with AP US.

well... I'm pretty sure at my school I think I can technically take the AP US History test, but I have to pay... if I pass, I can get the college credit, but frankly, the course is what teaches you all that is on it, so you should take the class first... but idk.... my school is confusing, and I'm probably going to be moving anyway.... idk... Imma' just take it as it comes rather than try like crazy to plan everything and then watch it all crumble in front of my eyes

Good man. Trust me, don't buy into this stuff too much. It'll kill you inside.

75% of colleges rubber stamp anyone who gives an application,as long as they can pay. (The number is from TIME, but i cant find the article)

was that a shot at state schools? Least we aren't community colleges...

Not necessarily a shot...but state schools generally have higher admissions rates, except for occasional outliers(UM-Ann Arbor, UW- Madison, UV, etc.). But mid 70's is pretty high except for the large state schools that are the least selective. And I don't at all think this dude wants to have worked this hard through high school and not get into a very well ranked school.

The thing is, a million people apply to state schools, not that many people actually go there. And some are really good.
Heck of a lot cheaper , if you stay in state.
Think I don't know that? I totally know that! :D

I have allowed people to pay me in food for services rendered. Wow, I'm stupid.

Have you guys qualified for NAQT nationals yet? Good stuff.

Figures my roomate and his idiot friends would come busting in and romping around immediately after I agree to keep my eye on my friend's Wall-E costume for an hour or so. Now I don't even know where it is
