Random Rants LXIX: Life is a Dismal Chore

Maybe we could have some posts moved to the thread for news about East Asia, with which we've always been at war?

Bootstoots, there's a long road ahead of you. I hope you get there safely. (and stop buying uranium, it won't help)
What about raisins? Aren't they about due for an insult? yes, they are... For one thing the're ugly. They look like mummified testicles :yuck:
Water pistols at dawn.

It's better to have semestered and lossed than never to have semestered at all :(
yea but that doesn't make me feel any better
sorry for selfish answer
Hm, not sure what the system is there, i suppose you can carry any number of courses (non-passed) up till you graduate? (it is like that in greek unis, but i studied in England)
you can only attempt exam in a given course three times, but I've "dropped out" before that to not waste attempts
otherwise there are some like technicalities if you don't succeed as you're supposed to, but essentially you can do however much you want on bachelor level I think
I think it's different on master level because of a sort of time limit on your "master project" but you know I haven't really thought of that at all since I've been stuck halfway on bachelor for 2 years now

I'm terribly sad about all this

Maybe you should take half a year off, and focus on your psychology? I've told you this before, but in the long run it would save you many years. In my case i stubbornly refused to take year off (well, i did, but not really in a helpful manner), and got my degree, but after it i was unable to continue to a one year MA. So getting the degree in time isn't everything. The person is what matters.

Not really a rant, but...

...I really hate when people say: "Don't use references while drawing, that's cheating." People who understand nothing about Art but think they can tell others how to do it "the right way". Bleh.

You're right, I need to seriously consider this

There's a couple of problems though. Like the psychologist I'm seeing now has concluded that our talks aren't helpful and she wants us to stop meeting soon (she's decided we'll only meet 2 more times)

I hope all goes well for you, friend! :)

I made a joke to cheer you up, until I read the post about how sad you were feeling...

So forget the jokes... just keep at it and never give up. If you need time off, take it, just make sure you come back. Actually, taking time off and slogging around in the job market might help to motivate you even more. You can do it :grouphug:

Challenge accepted.
You weren't there when I woke up.

I'll have to agree that simpyl staying for the sake ofs taying can be extremely counter-productive. What is the goal behind going to university, Mr. L?

All art is derivative.

I did wake up at high noon. It's a Sunday.

That's what happens when you sleep-in after challenging someone to a crack-of-dawn duel. I have kids so I wake with the roosters... when I didn't see you there, I left.

Next time opt for high-noon :cowboy: or midnight ;)
You two need to make sure you're talking about the same time zones. It's no good arranging a duel at dawn when dawn may be offset by two or three hours for one of you.

Also, dawn happens to be whenever I wake up. I'm a university student, y'know.

I won the duel by virtue of you not showing up.
