Not just in the localised sense of your personal friendship with this individual. In general it's a bad effect that such a candidate goes out of his way to split a country and demonise everyone who oppose him, to such an extent that his followers then treat the other as an enemy.

Next off, moving to my first apartment is taking way too long. I have a mental health/independent living agency helping me move, but the roommate situation is essentially Saharan. They provide roommate matching, so maybe Im too picky?

At least I can cuss on reddit. Maybe r/Politics' comment sections got to my head or something, but... The despair and utter hopelessness is something I have not felt in years. I posted my big rant on Facebook, and will quote it here. I do not feel safe posting it on reddit, lest I get downvoted and censored to oblivion (mobocracy at its finest).

As someone who is disabled, the voice that Americans have spoken is one of bigotry. I do not feel safe with a man who is truely, sincerely, America's Hitler. Mark my words, he will follow the steps of the Robert Duterte, leader of the Philippines, and several other new dictators this year, and disband democracy.


To me, this election feels like a truely life or death situation. Maybe I'm being paranoid. Maybe not. But with a man who spoken ill of the disabled as our leader, I fear for my life. As a bisexual, I fear for my life.


Facebooks algorithms will likey bury my post deep towards the bottom of priorities. Probably censor it.


At the end of the day, with full republican control of all 3 levels of our government, it is essentially an elected dictatorship. Sure its happened before, but each time there will always be that chance it'll get to the party's head. This looks to be that time.

In addition to this, I despair not as a disabled bisexual, but as a space fan. The anti science crowd has won. All future battles will be fruitless. Global warming is only a tip of the problem. The ball of scorching hot iron and rock will be fine, sure, but most everything else is screwed. We waited too long and now we will very much go backwards in terms of policies and contribute MORE again to climate change and environmental murder. The movements we all join to feel slightly better about ourselves do jack nothing to contribute to saving the Earth at this point.


Not gonna lie, spacing humanity out and seeking residence in the stars is just not gonna happen, and the biggest factor in that is just how difficult it actually is. Warping around and alcubierre drives is just sci fi hype dreams, no matter how much officials and the media try to sugar coat it. I've posted longer rants about this in past rant threads and I really have no motivation to rant and ramble about it again.


In personal, personal news, my birthday is in 6 days as of this writing and talking with a girl since September has made me seriously realize Im not bf material, regardless of who I like. She's everything Ive wanted in someone, and what do I do? Blow her off while playing my computer games. I've never expected this of myself and I've always promised myself I wouldn't be that guy. Guess I lied to myself, because I apparently am... (And they got rid of the suicide smiley. )

Interestingly (and you wouldn't know that), here we actually do use double negative connoting still negative. Not sure when it started (ie if it was there in ancient times; i think it wasn't), but we do. Supposedly for more emphasis. Eg "i won't do that never" would be a very usual phrase, meaning "i won't ever do that".
Not that it applies to any use of double negative, but it is a bit interesting.

Cheer up, on the balance, if Trump's space plans are actually put into action then our national space program will likely not suffer overall. Earth science is in for some cuts but deep space exploration and manned space flight are in for a big boost.

Although the above comes from statements made by Pence. Trump himself has been thoroughly disinterested in space and has made some statements to the affect that 'we should spend our money on Earth first' which is frustratingly stupid. But I don't think he'll neglect NASA overall as it's a national prestige project which is what the Trump brand is all about.
