There aren't any sort of zoning ordinances preventing people from building right up to the property line?

My ankle hurts, my knee hurts, and my mom just gave me a lecture about being anti-social on the tv when we have house guests. It wasn't even me that was watching tv, I was downstairs with the people we had over. My sister and brother were watching tv alone when they were over, but they didn't get to hear one word of the nice lecture I got.
