Random Rants VII: Why do they ALWAYS do that?!

Block schedule sucks. You might actually think, "Christ, he's crying about long classes now."

No. We have four classes. But each is 100 minutes long. Yep. A hundred minutes. No typo. Science. My teacher can get monotonous sometimes, but he realizes it quickly.

Which brings me to the offshoot: We're reviewing the metric system. I ask my friend who is in Honors Science. They skipped it. Which is why I ask my mom WHY SHE FORCED ME TO ACCEPT 200s SCIENCE!!! (College Prep, still rigorous, but not as much as Honors) My friend's average for the year last year for Science was an 87. He gets in Honors. I get a 97. But I'm in CP. Notice anything wrong?

Back to my previous rant: English: The teacher is wonderful, and we have a ball. We read short sections, and it's very enjoyable. This class is the one we have block days every day. Which is good.

Study Hall: Don't even friggin' get me started. One hour and a half of doing nothing. Torture. I just got a book about the Paris Peace Conference and read.

After Study Hall, I get picked up because my mom was dropping off my grandparents. After, I ask if we get McDonald's because I'm hungry. (No, I'm not fat. I'm 5'11, 120 pounds) We do, and we have a discount card for some stores. Last year, it was a free sandwich or burger with a large fry and medium drink. Now, it's a free dollar menu item with a large meal.

They probably thought the people in honors science would know thier metric system already. Also: grades are a large part, but not the only part of what determines who gets into the advanced classes. Speaking with teachers personally, even just showing that you're trying harder than most people.

Dude, get a gameboy. Or just ask to go to the bathroom and don't come back.

I did do that.

Also, I have a GameBoy Color, GBA, DS, and a PSP. One problem:

I CAN'T PLAY THEM! Though you could in my district until I reached third grade. Then, they banned everything fun. The days of Pokemon battles were at an end. The year after, they cut recess in half. Then, after that, some angry parents protested, so they'd have recess until 25 minutes. But soon, it became 22. Then, 20. Then, 18. Slowly, it was dropped a minute until it went back to 15. None of the parents even noticed.

Also, I'll get in trouble for cutting Study Hall. I can't friggin' wait until I get an honors pass. Then, cafeteria time. Or Library.

Quit spamming :p

But now for a proper rant: a girl said she wants to speak to me tommorow, and I'd love to speak to her, but I know for a fact that a cat will eat my tongue when I get to the talking. :(

Have you considered doing such things by holding it under your desk? Or behind a book? This is how you stick it to the man, D.

I interpreted that literally for a split second! :rotfl:

Classes are for learning, not gameboys. Play when you have free time at home or where ever else you might be.

If you love school so much why don't you just marry it, nerd. :p ;)

Nah, I feel D's pain a little bit. Study halls are basically do-nothing periods. Lucky for me, my school has free periods with open campus. :smug:

One thing you could try is doing your homework during this time so you won't have it later. Or if you're a daredevil, do yesterday's homework for classes you have later in the day so you don't have to do it the previous night.

One problem: My study hall is directly at the end of the day.

Also, I'd probably have tons of signatures, but it probably won't make a difference. The balls are inert. (Youtube Video)

Well that's a bit ass-tarded of them if I do say so myself. You could still do homework there and have it done earlier.

Doing homework doing study hall? What a crazy idea!

Aparently D'Artagnan hadn't heard. I was trying to be nice about it.

My spanish teacher is impossible to understand. She just stands there and speaks high level spanish at us really really fast and expects us to follow it. And then she gets mad when we don't do everything. She won't repeat her directions in english unless like more than half the class complains either.

And she pays attention to what we're doing so no homework time :(
