Lost a guy at the base today.
We got called as we were leaving for the evening and arrived at the scene less than 4 minutes later for a 'faint with loss of consciousness'.
Turned out he was already blue when we arrived and 45 minutes of CPR and 20mg of Adrenaline wasn't enough to bring him back.
35 years old, a bit young IMO.
S**t happens, but I feel bad for his work buddies and I'm mad at them for not even attempting some basic CPR while we were on the way.

There was a cockroach in our room early morning around 5:30 and me and my roommate freaked out, I killed it, but then we were too unmanly to take it out, so we tried to sweep it out, and it was slow going, eventually someone came by and asked us what was going on because we kept shrieking loudly, and he removed the cockroach. I feel emasculated.
Agreed. Screw the solstice, winter starts whenever it first snows.

Also, I rant that I slipped on some ice whilst walking home from the bus stop. It hurt a bit. It was nothing bad, and only hurt for a few minutes, but I want something to rant about.

it's been snowing all day, and we've been below zero since about sunday morning. I got into a fender bender this morning because people freak out when they drive up here in the snow. And my company is going to be doing layoffs. They need to move minneapolis-st paul to a warmer cliamte, and I need to make it through another round of layoffs...
