Cheezy learned German first, now he is learning Arabic.

The same goes for you. Are you copying Cheezy?

:nono:

Nope, he's far ahead of me in both.

We started taking Arabic in the same semester independently, AFAIK. And I'm pretty sure my experience with German dates back further than his.

:p

You're from Bavaria, right?

And I think you started Arabic before me, too. You're on like ARAB 202 right? I'm in 102.

On that topic, my Arabic homework tonight has yet to be done! *runs off*

Rant- I wish i could learn another language...

Whats preventing you? No time?

I just can't wrap my brain around it. I took years of Spanish but couldn't get anything better then a low D... I can't think in another language.

I kinda see what you mean. Ive been taking Russian for over a year now, and sometimes I feel like I can only progress so fast, no matter how much I study. I feel like the class moves a little too fast for me, and Ive been getting B's since the second term (not too bad, but Id like to do better).

I have an unfair advantage in one of them.

I'm in 210, did 110 last semester. There's nothing between the two; we're probably about equal. If anything, you know more cos I suck at learning languages.

At the meetup we'll have to converse, if only to fool other people. Though, if Eran comes, he can join in too, and Elrohir is learning German, so we can have a big fat language fest, and those who speak only English will be oh-so-confused!

As a sidenote (and a legitimate rant) taking Arabic from Word and pasting it into a Reply Box on the internet DOES NOT WORK

I spent seven years learning Mandarin and I can't even manage a proper two-minute conversation. I've been learning German for five years and is only doing a little bit better.

Some teacher once told me I am good with language. What a joke. English is my second language and I've been using it everyday since I was nine. In writing, reading and listening I'm more proficient with English than with my first language, but I can't manage to speak even a single bloody English sentence without stuttering or getting the words in the wrong order. So trying to learn a third language had been an epic fail for me, and I can't say to be completely fluent in either English or first language. Yeah, I'm real good with language, being unable to fully communicate in any.

I guess you're bored with my weather rant but anyway it got up to around 45 degrees according to the thermometer at my house today. In the shade.

Half-Life 2, Episode 3 maybe will never come out. W'aaaaaaaaah. I need a story fix....now.

Why is this (bleep) not being charged with assault? He's being internally disciplined for 'excessive force'?! What force was justified at all? It wasn't a police situation. He was acting as a citizen and assaulted an old timer.

A Chattanooga detective accused of assaulting an elderly Wal-Mart greeter who asked to see his sales receipt at the store has been suspended from duty.

Police Chief Freeman Cooper told the Chattanooga Times Free Press that following a disciplinary hearing the officer was suspended 28 days without pay for conduct unbecoming an officer, improper procedure and excessive use of force.

Oh, and another related rant about this. This isn't odd news, this is abuse of power and assault and shouldn't be treated so frivolously by filing it under 'odd news'.

I'm pretty good in both Flemish and French, but I don't think in them? My mind dominantly thinks in English, possibly because I learned Flemish and English at the same time because I moved to Canada when I was two. You don't have to be able to think in a different language in order to be good in it. Or at least, in my experience.

I'm pretty good at languages, I learn them easily and without any hindrance, it just seems I forget new words I've learned also pretty quickly. It takes about a couple of reminds before I won't forget new vocabulary which I heard. (I speak German, English and my newest acquaintance is Hebrew, the latter just for fun.)

This is crazy, there are 2 other people who've gone down the German -> Arabic route...

(I was forced to learn German at school, not that I remember much of it, and I'm going to start learning Arabic sometime soon... I just need to get off my backside and try to start again)

EDIT: And to keep it legal, I rant that I've never heard another album like Paraf's "Zastave" album :(

This kid is really getting on my goddamn nerves:

1. He thinks because he got 2nd in the state in math, he's the smartest kid in the world. I can name about seven people (excluding me) who are smarter than him. Maybe not in math, but in everything else. How about you stop being a goddamn braggart and shut the hell up?

2. He uses sarcasm every ten seconds. Sarcasm is okay in small doses, but EVERY. TEN. SECONDS. It just gets annoying. Instead of "I hate how blah blah blah," he'll say "Oh, I love how blah blah blah." Again, shut up.

In all seriousness, someone needs to put this kid in his place.
