Why must my class groups be staffed with the incompetent and lazy?

I actually don't mind the incompetence so much if they actually do the work but my squaddies seem content with not only stocking our group paper with rubbish they put in the bare minimum amount. What should be an empty-net goal turns into a last minute struggle to get it all together because they simply couldn't be arsed into taking time away from their frat meetings and loafing around to finish it earlier. Thinking back to our initial meeting (the groups were chosen for us) and one guy's boasting that we could definitely get an A it seems they've all fallen victim to the age old problem of wanting the best result but vehemently refusing to put in the relatively small amount of effort to get it.

I mean they are everything that is wrong with college. They don't know how to write well. They don't know the subject matter very well (this is a review course of previous stuff) and don't want to relearn it. They simply don't care.

Next project I'm just doing it all myself.
