And today's guest in the class was Karl Rove. This has been an unusual political week for me.

Combined with Eliot Spitzer backing down from that license plan, it's been good. I rave at it all!

Babe thread is approaching 1000..tho i'll probably miss it when i go away this weekend :(

Well, Valerie Plame Wilson's coming here in a few weeks. :smug: (that was the worst comeback in CFC history)

Rave: is 700 posts enough to qualify for 'rave' status? Does it matter that half of them are spam?

EDIT: I just realized that Yankee has over 20x my post count. I'm oddly depressed now. :(

i only celebrate k's of posts.. you can easily do 50 a day without trying if you use the majority of the forum...

Yeah, my 'goal' is 1000 by the end of the year:

4 posts/day on the "What are you listening to..." thread
2 raves/day
1 rant/day
3 actual, substansive posts/day
That's 10 posts per day, or 300 posts per month, which will cover it.

I micromanage too much...

(In another forum I frequent, a poster just did 1000 posts in 9 days. That's procrastination.)

ive done ten in the last 5 minutes...

My procrastination-fu is not well-developed.

Integral, join NESing. That takes your post count up A (*•*) of a lot. At least 2000-2500+ of my posts are from NESing.

NES is a cult :smug:

I looked into Civ III Succession Games, but they would take *way* too much time to complete, and I can't dedicate that much time to the game. They look fun though.

They take a lot of RL, as regards from start to finish.. but that is only because updates come up once a week, acutal time needed to be involved i would place at a few hours a week to really enjoy it.

European Revolutions of 1848. :)
My EuroHist is sadly lacking. :) It's the one thing I never got to take in high school that I really wanted to.

Btw, Integral, you're good with math, right? (I'm assuming by your name.)

I pretend to be. :)

I've done Calc I-II, some Set Theory, and messed around in some higher-level stuff. I have a little background in analysis (and had my brain melted), looked at modern algebra (but not followed all of it), and I'll be doing multivariable calculus and mathematical statistics next semester.

I just find it really cool.

Pitching her new book?

Yes, but I've also been here much, much longer.

See you in 2012! :p

Hey Yankee, are you going for a MBA by any chance?

I found out today that at SIU it can be done in one year!

One year if you don't do anything else or if you go through summer (and winter, if possible) courses, I'd imagine.

And yes, I've been wanting to go for an MBA. Though I'm not sure what concentration. But that's still a couple years down the road. I couldn't get in without having gone to work for a while, first.

Maybe I should revive the barren MBA thread I started some months back. I've been wondering if there are any worthwhile places in Washington State to apply to. Since I'll likely go with a bunch of applications and see what sticks.

I'm reading through the online graduate catalog, required 33 credit hours. :D

I think one from an Ivy League would be more impressive, but damn, it's hard to beat the cost and time from SIUC.

Depends on whether you think an online education would be your best bet. Though I'm sure those options will be expanded by the time either of us want to go for it. The thing in SIU's favor is that you could probably go for it quicker than you would at other places, if you have a good GMAT.
