RAR graphic patch

If anyone could post an already modified .biq file this would be a complete patch and there wouldn't be too many problems for ppl who don't know the editor well enough to manually patch the .biq.

Btw, is RAR 1.01 patched for C3C too ? I can't find it anywhere.

The RaR 1.01 patch is only for the RaR mod and the RaR mod is a conquest-only mod.You find it in the RaR thread, on the second last page at the moment, if I remember and count correctly.

The file pediaicons.txt in rar1.ace has some errors: at least some of the great wonder icons point to files that don't exist anywhere and those pics are not included in the ace file, for example

#ICON_BLDG_Clausewitz
SINGLE
137
art\civilopedia\icons\buildings\claus.pcx
art\civilopedia\icons\buildings\claussmall.pcx

There are no pics named claus.pcx and claussmall.pcx. This one was the second error.. Now I'll have to start game, open civilopedia, go to wonders page, see the next error, repair pediaicons.txt, start game.. (repeat many times).

In the first page of this thread there is picture from buildings pack but it isn't available yet (there's no download link)? Will it fix these pediaicons.txt errors?

And btw, the pediaicons.txt that is in the rar1.ace file has wrong path... "RAR1\Art\Text" while it should be just "RAR1\Text"

Cough cough, this is due of using of my buildings. Sorry, I think that for the week-end I will complete the pack.
Ok, thanks for the info. I changed the pediaicons.txt back to the old one and in it I replaced the tech icons from your pediaicons.txt.. This seemed to be the easiest way to make your current graphics pack work and after testing it, it works fine now. :)

I noticed that in your pediaicons.txt you haven't yet set marsh, volcano or barricades icons.. ;) In my game I also changed Slave's animation to Enslaved Worker and it's icons to Enslaved Worker's icons (those were included in Conquests).

I'll repeat what onedreamer has asked...is there a .zip file that is already done to completeness? Don't know how to open "editor"; don't even know where it is! And this .biq file that is mentioned "needs to be edited with RAR1 before RAR". I'm a gamer...not a computer "geek". Zip files, by there very nature, are supposed to do ALL of the work...sorta like "plug and play" if they are done properly.
Anyone there able to give TOTALLY complete, step by step instructions on how to install this Mod?

1) Zip is a standard de facto, not de jure. Then, I'm not obliged to use it. Actually, Winzip (and not zip, that it's only an algorithm for compression) is not the better program for compress files, but the best is (strange), Winace. Then, to open ace files use www.winace.com (that can open also the whole possible comprimed files, not only zip).

2) About instructions, I think that you have never read Help file of editor... BTW, I think that surely there is a tutorial in the forum about adding scenarios folders. Search it, as anyone of us had made the first time. :p

For all others, I'm nearly to complete the pack. I have to do other 9-10 unit replacements, testing, and it could be out. The problem is that I can spend no more than 30 minutes a day for it. :(

I will look forward to your completed pack and understand the time constraints that you face, so the best of luck with that :)
I am finding the procedure to install the mod, in its current form, a little bewildering and hopefully the new pack will be more simplistic in the method of installation...?

Because there will have also a biq file, your problems will be solved.

Really? I can't wait for you to put that patch out! I think Isak and crew recycled unit animations because they wanted to decrease the download size. Another issue I had was the fact that some units had incorrect civilipedia pictures, and Rise and Rule still uses the African Color conversions, not DPII's MUCH better African Units.

Well done :)
However.....

F:\Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios\RAR1\Art\Advisors

Using the above path (I assume that it is right) for the three additional Leaderheads that are required still gives an error when they are placed within that folder so... each of the Leaderhead packs come complete with a folder structure is that structure needed to be maintained of am I placing them wrongly...?

Thanks for any help :)

I have got it to work now by removing...
MA_all
NZ_all
SU_all
From their nested folders and placed them directly within the \RAR1\Art\Advisors folder however...
There are up to four nested folders within each of those leaderheads folders so does the contents of each also need to be removed and placed directly in the Advisors folder ..?
When I do start a game then the entire map is revealed and when a city is started then the screen follows the construction of every other Civ, is it me that has got somethig wrong ...?

About debug mode, you must download the second ace file (like I have said on the first post). About leaderheads, why not read the leaderheads tutorial?

Have you deleted the flavour units from the Pediaicons, I would like to play normal rar with the new unit graphics, but not deletion of the flavour units
