EDIT...Okay, I concede this one. His other two mentions make it pretty clear he wants this. Though TBF beating up ISIS would be kind of fun in a way. Kinda like beating up Hitler.

IS in its methods and outlook is not that different than the early revolutionary Soviet Russia (civil war, genocide, cult-like followers, destruction of historical heritage etc.), yet we have a very successful Lenin mod around. IS leaves a bad taste in mouth only because it's more modern than the Soviet Union. Whether it deserves to be portrayed as a civ is another matter.

On the other hand though, Command and Conquer Generals foreshadowed the invasion of Iraq by a few months and featured a pan-Muslim terrorist state using suicide bombers en masse, along with biological, chemical and missile weapons, represented by its GLA faction, so there's that. It's not like it wasn't done before.

Imagine Ashurbanipal and Nebu ganging up on ISIS. They have destroyed so many artefacts, it's simply disheartening that they have survived for millennia yet it only took a year for these sick-minded people to spring up and waste them away, so the future generations won't have a chance to see or learn about them.

My opinion on this is basically Hitler, Stalin and all the other Controversial civs, as i believe JFD said in a Modcast, are History. History needs to be remembered. Creating a Civ of Hitler is just a way of doing that.
ISIS are not history, they are happening at this very moment, as you read this. People are being murdered, kidnapped, ransomed off and what might as well be called genocide is happening as well. They aren't history, they are the now and if you start making video game mods out of them it will offend someone and it will hurt someone.
