RBD 24 Grab-the-game SG: Cold and Lonely

Okay, all the comments thus far have been to open this game up to everyone. This was the option that seemed the best to me, as well, so that's what we'll do. This game is now open to any- and everyone that thinks they can handle Emperor difficulty. Good luck.

We have lost a LOT of jungle since last I saw this land.

Inherrited turn, reduce research to 10%, Literacy in 1 turn.
Checking diplomacy, we are alone....ALL alone..

Turn 1
Literacy discovered, swap a LOT of cities over to Library since we have to do this all alone. Select research towards Republic, if we do this all alone, might as well get the bonus and see if we can deal with the unhappiness.

Turn 2 - 5 move workers...chop jungle...improve tiles..etc
Some micro management for max trade/research.

Turn 6. We have our first Library in Heliopos, Lux slider has to go to 10% to prevent size 6 city to become unhappy. We Need more Lux, BADLY, one is sad :king:

Turn 7. Philosophy 1 turn..jiggle slider down. (1 library saved us 1 turn..nice)
Turn 8. Start Code of Law

Turn 9. WOOHO, our Galley see some light green borders..

Turn 10. We cross over and find....Persia.
He is HUGE, got 17 cities and our army is weak compared to him. He has 6 techs we don't have. Since it is the end of my turn I do not make any trades. Good luck to next Leader, at least get us another lux or two, pretty please..

Save game:
210AD - RBD24

Great job.

I need to move this game into a new thread so that the heading can change. It's great to know that we finally found somebody else.

However, I won't be able to start up a new thread until Friday at the earliest. Going to Chicago tomorrow to see the Cubs play the Brewers, and I might even see a baseball game, too ;) .

*sigh* There's always next year...

preturn -- I see what Xerxes has too offer, he is the only game in town and being a pig about it, I defer trading till a later date.

Persia has started building the great library.

Change Heliopolis to a galley and Alexandria to a settler.

230AD - 270 AD MMWM Our 1 galley continues to sail south all the time seeing Persian lands.
In 270AD Helio and Alexandria complete their projects and I send the galley Northward hoping to see a "connection" to another island.
Xerxes is still asking a lot for tech.

280AD - 290AD MMWM - sailing - I trade 185 gold and WM to Xerxes for Iron Working.
We learn about Law and start to study Math.
America has built the Great Wall.

300AD - 330AD MMWM - sailing - Workers begin a road to iron.
I started to build spearmen in Thebes to send to Giza and Byblos.

Here it is: Cleo, Cold and Lonely

I got it.

Not an emporer expert - but not exactly much I can do wrong in 10 turns ;)

(0) 330 AD - The mystery, where is the settler / spearman intended for?
Switch Pi-Ramesses to courthouse - 50% wastage.
Giza has horrid production, but leave on harbor to get the city to grow.
With the irragation level we have - we need to up to Monarchy or Republic.

(1) 340 AD - Workers head toward the iron source.
We are losing $1/turn, which I make up for selling territory map to Persia for $1.
(I) We worker another working in Memphis
Palace expansion.

(2) 350 AD - I still find Persian territory.
We get request to leave Persian territory.

(3) 360 AD - Jungle clearing by thebes reveals a shield grassland, we can get thebes to 10 shields a turn :)
(I) Iron is now available.
Follow path of least science resistance - start the wheel.
Our empty, exploring galley sinks :(

(5) 380 AD - Persian completes the Lighthouse.

(7) 400 AD - I find yet another island - still Persian. Where is Babylon, America, Aztecs?

(8) 410 AD - Researching wheel - can complete in 5 turns at a profit.
Sell silks to Persia for $70 and Mysticism.

Summary - Our ship with settler / spear still staying at home. I seen nothing in water layout that justifies crossing the

sea.

Persia has a lone horseman in our territory.

Very lonely on this map.

I've only played up to regent does anyone mind if I try to grab the game? (Please say yes, I am incompetent and I am just bumping the thread)

I think this one is DOA.

Emperor is just to high of a level for an open game.

My vote:
Consider this one closed.
