Sometimes when I play on the Earth map, when I start on a good location,I try to build the empire as it looked in reality.
Example:
attachment.php

I was playing as Arabia and I own Egypt,Arabia,Levant,Anatolia,Mesopotamia,Iran, Khorasan,North Africa and Iberia.
That are all regions that Arabia covered in reality.
I also managed to do that as Mongolia and Siam.
Does anyone do something similiar as this?

I only played a complete game on the real earth map once.
I did look in google maps to name the cities I both founded and captured.

I was playing France at the time, but I founded my capital closer to Berlin than Paris for the river.

It really wasn't my intent going in to duplicate Napoleon, but if you counted my city state allies, I pretty much had control over everything he did except for the overseas colonies by the time I won. (And a bit more since there wasn't anyone in England.)

I love to do it, it's my joy to especially create proper colonies.
Maybe I should duplicate the British empire next..

nice. ive tried that before too on earth but not nearly to that success. i didnt know i could rename cities when i was trying it, too.

I loved playing the Rhye's mod for Civ4. Then you would get all the real empires of the world. Especially the Arabs was a fun civ to play.

Does anybody know how the progress is going (if any?) with CiV. I've checked the RFC page but there hasn't been much going on for a looong time.
