Nope. As I said above, you just have to wait X number of seconds when it loads up before you can play (X being the number of lives you have lived).

And I remember one of my biggest beefs with the game;

Retirement.

Or rather, lack there of. It only lets you retire when you have a tonne of money, but if you are 70 and dying and have enough money to live for another 20 years it keeps bugging you every year to get a job. You should be able to retire at will.

Besides the problems I've found, I still do enjoy the game.

Actually, I think it might be because you played with the older version, which was free. This new version is NOT free unless, I guess, you upgraded from a previous version

I went to the site, downloaded the new one, installed it, I didn't pay attention where too, and I can play as many lives as I want. It is the evauluation version of Real Lives 2007. The old version was an evaluation copy too, it had zoom disable.

Can I have other people here back me up on this?

Or rather, lack there of. It only lets you retire when you have a tonne of money, but if you are 70 and dying and have enough money to live for another 20 years it keeps bugging you every year to get a job. You should be able to retire at will.

Besides the problems I've found, I still do enjoy the game.

I've retired in one of my games. Actually one of my sucessful yet. I've made milionaire and outlived all my family. They all died from colon cancer or something similar.
