Realism Invictus - Play-N-Learn

Found few barbarian cities SE of Persepolis along with some resources. First galley should be out to see very soon

Interesting game. Will be following this.

- Declare vs Ismail to open borders with Persia, prevent them from ploting vs you for a while and get some plunder.

- You have some commerce and being Celtic can build Nemetons together with Slave Markets. Expand.

Btw, I prefer major overlapping, early on. You have copper, so you don't need the horses right away. If 2nd city was closer: +1 trade route sooner, less wastage of tiles, less wastage of worker turns, easier defense with less units vs barbs and slave revolts, less maintenance. Later on there's so much food that early cities will simply work specialists.
There should be no problem in getting 4 cities. Its after that when the problems begins (you'll need specialists, cottages).
Here, in this game, its inevitable to run 0% research: either to bump it up again to 100% as long as possible and so on, or to use commerce as gold and scientists and bulbing for research (plenty of games I ran 0% slider for hundreds of turns!).

Also, what you don't realize is that the way this is going Persia will overwhelm the continent and you're reasoning:" Given all of the above, and a fact that war with Persia will completely drain our economy and research for a long time without really achieving anything other than “maybe” crippling Nader, I have decided to postpone the invasion and continue developing our lands and cities" - is not proper (where's the development in cities, btw?).

You could've invaded Persia not to conquer, but indeed to prevent them from getting larger, and with just a few units (its too late now and you can get open borders if you want anyway). That would've been big!
You didn't even want to declare on Ismail, but you can't get away from war: it will find you (Persia WILL get you). You should've declared on Ismail as soon as Persia did it. You got lucky and don't even realize it.

Time to change ISP! Plenty of alternatives in Montréal.

Habs suck, go Leafs go!

Looks like one way or another Persia is eventually gonna have to go, so keeping them diplomatically happy isn't a big deal. Those immortals had an insane amount of promos on them; until you have a stack that can counter them I wouldn't wade into any wars.

If you were able to trade resources I would even look into helping the losing team so they don't get overwhelmed and you become the next target.

That's an option. Another option would be to back stab Nader while his elite immortals are away in Trany lands

On my list already, just need to finish infrastructure in two cities first (barracks, s.market, nemeton, granary (Bibs only), storytelling circle, potter workshop (Bibs only))

Reason for settling second city where it is was two fold: 1. i prefer cities on coats if it only costs one move, 2. get rid of useless desert tile

All of this will be possible later when we have our cities developed

Oh believe me i do realize this, however, i also calculate and make decisions based on current state of the game and at that point odds were not in my favor. If you pay attention to screenshots of Persian army and production of our cities you will know why

You got lucky and don't even realize it.
Do tell. If you mean Nader not declaring on me, i did post my reasoning behind prediction that he will attack Ismail first. Just some basic knowledge of game

Agreed on all points. I am actually contemplating on sending all of my Gaesatae (possible with 1-2 spears to protect against chariots) on a sneak attack against Persia while immortals are away from main land

Very good suggestion. The problem is i have on of each (Cooper and Horses) and i don't really want to be left without them for number of turns. I might give him Horses thiough (not that it will help him much, but still)
