How about you bulb Theo ASAP, and you don't declare EP, and we promise not to AR you this term, and we retract our formal demand about slavery.

Though I detest these public negotiations, this seems reasonable. However, I would like clarification on the difference between "formal demands" and "informal demands," because I am assuming you are reserving the right for the latter.

Arya and I were discussing this in our PMs.

Formal demands are in bold. They can provide a substantial increase in the OSR. Informal demands are basically complaints. They do not provide a substantial increase, but if the opposition stops making informal demands, the OSR might drop due to inactivity on the opposition's part.

The main reason we still want to be able to use informal demands is because its fun yelling at the administration about their decisions. :p

Also, an armed revolution would remove your incompetence, arya (Whosit, we're polititians - this is just a simple insult. Also, I recommend you become president in RL). And MNs deal would be good.

EDIT: Double X-Post. ARYA, STOP ADVOCATING SLAVERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WIM if im incompetent, then you would be disastrous. If you ever become Prez, ill be scared.

And any deal i make has to exclude EP, AR and any other power. I will not make deals that restrict us from our arsenal of tools.

If you weren't willing to give up EP, you could have said so from the start.

EDIT: Keep in mind that slavery would increase the OSR since your coalition includes some parties that strongly disagree with slavery. (Modernization)

WIM you refused to stop on the religious thing un til someone else stopped it, so i will not stop with slavery. You might consider that petty, but like we have said before, we are not talking about the kind of slavery you think we are. When you think of what we are doing, think that immigrants are earning their citizenship by working for their country, and criminals are being put on parole for community projects.

MN-Only most politicians are like that. And, believe it or not, alot of politicians really think whta they do is for the best. Sometimes thats the case. But not most of the time.

Strange how the one who first threatened it now wants to stop the threat, and is more than eager. Also, nice politicians explain why the RL Green Party of England and Wales are so unpopular... Can't we have the glories of an extremely far left system?

EDIT: X-Post

Um WIM, that last post was very confusing. Care to clarify?

If criminals are being put on parole for community projects, EXPLAIN WHY THE POPULATION OF THE CITY DROPS!!!

Because after the community project is finished, they are shipped as immigrants to ireland, where the mongols welcome them with open arms since ireland was once built from 'criminals' too.

You were threatening Extreme Action, and now you are very eager to not do it. Also, RL Green Party politicians are very nice but unpopular, which is bad since the Green Party is the best one.

The only problem with that is that Whosit is too nice, and modern politicians dislike nice people that actually want what's good for their country.

Something like that. The more complex answer is that . . . well, OK, even the more complex answer would be a simplification, but the way I see it is that most people, even the extremists, truly believe that they know what is best for the country. Some people think that restricting the power of massive, multinational corporations would make the world a better place; others think that kicking out everyone without a green card and building a giant fence is the best solution. I'm not even going to get into morality issues. Of course, that's optimistic. Some people become politicians for the perks and bribes they can get. Those people should be shot. To me, corruption in public officials is among the greatest sins they can commit, even greater than sheer stupidity.

*Ahem* But pardon that tangent. And I seemed to have missed that arya made a similar comment. But at least you think I'm nice. :D

I would continue to try to interject in the "negotiations" debate, but I want to avoid becoming collateral damage . . . .

Well purely nice politiocians dont get any where. It is good to be nice, but you have to get dirty in politics. And i can think of several reasons why a 'green party' would not be popular. It is leftist (i am rightist so i am biased) and is probably environmentalist, and from your views, pacifist. Thats plenty of reasons to be unpopular.

IC: How would you feel if you were thrown out of your country just because you sped on the highway? (Well, OK, I know we don't have combustion yet...)

OOC: Really, Arya? Is that petty gimmick excuse the best you got?

And yes, a large portion of America would consider that a reason to vote for the GPC.

Actually, a large portion of america would not vote for them. All someone would have to say, is say their communist and show a leftist policy, and a scandal would start about almost letting commies into office.

And ALOT of people ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE to pacifist, and many more people ARE NOT EXTREME TREE HUGGING NUTS. No offense to the people who believe in this stuff, but alot of america isnt what the media portrays it to be. This fall, a helluva alot of voters are about to swing to the republican side, which is more right.

And guys, when i say 'criminals' i mean people who have been thrown in jail for serious crimes. Like killing, raping, kidnapping, attempted murder, terrorism, and such as that stuff. Plus, people would NOT be in jail for speeding on a highway. ALSO wouldnt you rather go on parole, then move to a nearby land of our anscestors, than spend your life (or a good part of it) in jail?

Then theres the point that this sort of policy would encourage people not to commit crimes in the first place, reducing crime rates, and allowing for a better behaved empire.

I'm baaack! Now let me clarify something about EP:

To launch - someone must propose to give the Prez EP. This person must:

- NOT be president
- Be a party leader

In order for EP to be proposed there must be a national crisis as interpreted by the Game Host(me). We will have on IF a war breaks out, and not before.

I saw aryas plan and am planning to update tonight.

- Lighthearter

So let me get this straight (from what you say it sounds like what i thought it was), if there is a war going on, EP can be used? And it sort of helps that i am not a party leader myself, so we have more than enough leaders to use it if needed.

YAY UPDATE TONIGHT!
