So did the Germanic tribes when Rome challenged them. Wonder how that worked out for them. Of course, since you're one of those politicians yet to leave his office from London, you wouldn't know about the hardships of your fellow Englishman in Iberia and how much worst it will get.

Peace ASAP. We will not bloody Rome's nose. Antium is a fortress. Taking Rome is out of the deck as well.

Strongly agree. We need to take peace as soon as it is offered, and probably under whatever terms Rome offers. If they demand a city that they will clearly capture anyway, we should give them that city. With peace, we can start to patch our economy back together and to prepare our revenge.

Of course, I'd like to see some screen shots first. I expect that the above plan is what we will have to do, anyway, but it would be nice to have a better idea of where we stand.

Sabotage!! One of the fishing fleets outside London has been wrecked by a group of raiders who vanished into the foggy night before anyone could catch up to them. This is believed to be a political sabotage, not one spearheaded by Rome.

No evidence has yet surfaced to lead to the perpetrator.

This is outrageous! I demand an investigation into this act of treason immediately! Whoever did this should be used by our soldiers for target practice!

@mechaerik: In Aegis. PM me if you have any questions/concerns. And you haven't voted yet(? from what I've gathered)

I dunno; things worked out pretty well for the Germanic tribes.

The fact that the Germanic tribes have been driven into the frozen wastelands to the north says otherwise.

The sequel shall be called The Empire Strikes Back.

On another note: SABOTAGE!

It seems that there are ROMAN SYMPATHIZERS in Parliament.

I'm weighing my voting options.

Wait, are we talking in game or in RL?

Roman sympathizers? We must root them out and execute them for treason! They are levying aid and comfort to our enemies!

Wait, are we talking in game or in RL?

Game. I was trying to stay IC since originally I was going to post that Germany tried to go down swinging in WW2 as well but meh.

Roman sympathizers? We must root them out and execute them for treason! They are levying aid and comfort to our enemies!

The party or parties involved should be quartered for their treason and for aiding Rome.

WHO... SABOTAGED... ENGLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ar15::ar15::ar15:[pissed]

More in control, I haven't heard anything via PM from any other opposition members, so I doubt it was any of them. However, it has to be a party leader, so:

WIM Opposition member
Ravus Won't cross him out since he has had a history of events
Aysee
Whosit Lavished the sabotaged resource, so doubtful.
Cull Opposition member
MN Opposition member
Ilduce
Arya

It seems that there are ROMAN SYMPATHIZERS in Parliament.

Really? that was your first response? I assumed it was the typical historical move to force people to become more publically pro-war or be segregated into an ENEMY catergory.

A move of sabatogage helps no-one when it is without purpose like this one. A real sympathizer wouldn't have done this if they had an ounce of sense. So the only three options i see are;

1) Crazy person just wanting to test out the opposition actions for the hell of it
2) Political mastermind trying to stir up 'pro-war' efforts, as after this anyone not supporting the war will be deemed a 'sympathizer' and not trusted.
3) Person with a personal axe to grind against the previous administration or leader Arya

They are Roman sympathizers as their actions aid Rome. Anyone who aids Rome is a sympathizer and should be charged for treason. At least, that's what I'm going to charge them with.

Ahh . . . I love Ravus posts . . . .:D

As most of yours are, this is quite probably the most enjoyable post I've read all day. 1) is going to keep me smiling for hours. 2) sounds like something I would do if I were playing. And 3 is just fun to think about.

Of course, I know who did it and I feel pretty sure which of these options it was, but you'll not get that information out of me without a full-scale investigation(which costs money:goodjob:).

Hmm, you make some interesting points. Here are my thoughts on them:

1) If this is the case, the person should be locked up for being a loony!
2) Possible, although the situation is already so bad, this just seems like overkill!
3) Also possible. But they picked a really, really bad time and method for carrying out revenge.

I do think that this aids Rome, though, in that anything that hurts England's ability to fight helps Rome. Since I haven't seen a city screen of London in forever, I'm not sure how much we were relying on the Fish to feed the city, though considering they provide 5-6 food, it's pretty significant. And considering that we may have to use the whip heavily to defend ourselves, losing the food required to regrow the city is a major detriment.

Edit:

Of course, I know who did it and I feel pretty sure which of these options it was, but you'll not get that information out of me without a full-scale investigation(which costs money:goodjob:).

How much are we talking about, and how much do we have in the bank? You said I'm a Lord, right? Can I sell parts of my estate to help fund the investigation? (totally in character)

My guess as of now would be Ravus or Ilduce. Both of them have had a history of unpredictability. :p

LH: Was it one person or more than one person?

Whosit - If you want to personally fund it, then go ahead. In fact, that could be a plank for a presidential campaign(Yes, I'm shamelessly pushing you towards running. I think you're what England needs.)

west india man - I got your PM. But I'm not running SWGE any more. And really, if you want to threaten my nation in Downfall of the Empire, well, I think it'll be a little hard for a tiny little single-system conglomerate to "threaten" the Galactic Empire that won the Battle of Endor. Just so you know :mwaha:

MathNerd - 1. And that's all you'll get without cash.

I doubt this will become a double post.

Anyway, this could also be seen as a way to reduce slavery.

LH: Was it one person or more than one person?

I sure hope that it was neither, especially since Ilduce is the co-leader of my Coalition. I also don't think that LH is going to tell us anything without an investigation, which apparently costs money, so everyone should crack their piggy banks and shake out their couch cushions, because I'm pretty sure the treasury is empty.

Edit: Wow, posts so fast.

LH: I'm honored that you recommend me for the Presidency, although I'm reluctant to pursue that post unless my coalition votes me as the candidate (or if others urge me to, though I'm not sure why they would).

MN: If it was an act against slavery ... well, the Opposition may be the first suspect, but I know that there are others who opposed the adoption of slavery ....

Edit again: We'd probably need Code of Laws to make it really official, but perhaps the next administration should have a new post, Chief of Espionage, and put Cull there since he's a pirate-ninja-spy guy? Unless Cull is the culprit. Then it would be bad.

I'm not talking about a foolish offensive here, citizen. I'm talking about a guerrilla conflict until Rome ha to call it quits or until we can rebound.

If we get really lucky, the person who did it may reveal himself. Somebody here is doing something fishy... (Pun kinda intended)
