Theres an update in spoilers a few pages back to give you an overview of the situation, and the Joker party is gone, but now i lead the peace party! Come join it! WIM FOR PREZ! STOP ALL THE HATERS HATIN' ON WIM! HE DESERVES TO BE PREZ!

Okay a few points before i update all my history books and draft something bigger;

There are a LOT of unresolved things dating from even two elections ago. The Political Battle is looking more like Clowns hitting each other with Fish. Then Batman appeared. Bringing a new level of surrealism to all of these events. Why Batman? Why? Who knows.

Events still in Motion
1) Scientists are still alive in hiding in Wales, Do we support them again?
2) Ireland needs sorting out. They are currently split into two factions, the Khan and the KRF which has become more independent and extreme.
3) Syndicate is causing havoc, we now know it is led by Joker and a internal problem.
4) Ceaser is still imprisoned by Arya's old Administration. Arya wished to bring Caeser up on charges of War Crimes from way back in the Germaic Wars during Arya's First Presidential Term. While this sounds like a public matter Arya kept things hidden and ignored the fact that Whosit had pardoned Caeser and allowed him to live in exhile after the war.
5) Arya declares a Protestant Reformation. A Interesting idea. Considering Arya's lack of religious leanings i'm unsure who would support this Protestant Reformation. Especially when the only difference seems to be getting rid of myself as the Pope, stopping the crusades and pushing WIM as a president... Seems more like Arya's Will then Gods Will.
ASIDE: Never put to much stock in the words of Revalation. For you are hearing their interpretation. Revalation effects one man only, the rest of the world hears only the man, not the God. Put instead your trust in Rational. Seeking the divine through Rational leads easily to truth and stops the human condition influencing the will of the Divine Force.
6) Pirates in the Mediterrainian have long been pillaging indiscriminantly. But now is the age of Privateers and government owned Pirate Vessels. Do we wish to support these actions? Create a veritable Pirate Guild to deal out Pirate Justice internally while ransacking our rivals?
7) Robin Hood has been causing chaos in Russia yet now wants to move to Ireland. Considering Ireland is on the verge of settling down letting known rabble rouser go there seems pointless. I don't even see why Robin needs any support seeing as the Irish Resistance is soon to become the Catherine Resistance for Russia.
8) Arabia wishes to open Peace Negotiations. Finally.

Political Events
All of you seem to be forgetting last election. Remember the one-man-party rule? Last election the only parties that could put forward a presidential candidate were the Imperials, IngSoc, Jokers and the Sanity Party. They were the only parties with more then one member.

This election started of with a bang when Arya disbanded the Jokers and Created a Peace party. Definatly a powerful move but this Peace Party is not the 2-man joker party and thus can't put forward a Candidate.

When Arya then snubbed Twinkletoes for WIM i don't know what was going on. WIM can't be put forward for President and Twinkletoes was the only current other option. If this Green Peace Coalition wants to be able to have a chance of winning they need to apologise to Twinkle or tempt a Independent to join the Green Party of England and Wales, thus allowing WIM to run officially.

The Imperials and the IngSoc joined together in a powerful alliance. Can't blame them since the Jokers failed to deliver on their promise of Communism.

PPS: Really? A Reformation? Probably good as i was slowly morphing into a Diest with the whole Divine Force instead of Interventionist God anyway.
PPPS: Sorry things turned out crazy for you Twinkle it must be annoying that no one has realised you are the only other Viable Candidate to run against Whosit. Arya does like to feel in control of events even if it leads to Insanity though. Will you be able to run again in future as i feel your rational hand could be useful in the future leading England.

A grand alliance has been formed between the Imperial and English Socialist Parties! Together, we shall lead England and the world to a worker's paradise, overseen with gentle guidance from London. This is the beginning of a grand new era! For this election, I shall be the presidential candidate. I also invite NinjaCow to join us in our noble cause. Uniting the world will be a difficult task, to be sure.

As I have pledged before, Ireland shall have its independence. There is no reason why our two nations cannot be friends. Indeed, friendly relations between us is only natural. I would be more than happy to see this entire sordid affair put behind us so that we can focus our efforts on our true enemies.

At this time, I have no official comments on the actions of our departing president. I will have to see where he goes with this, if anywhere.

I am concerned about the rampant unhappiness in our cities. I can only assume that it is due to war weariness, but this will have to be confirmed. Peace with Arabia, though distasteful, is likely the best option. :closed:For the short-term.:closed: We have made great gains in the east, although our new holdings still lack the culture required to stave off the encroachments of our enemies. We require a bit of a breather to improve our infrastructure and refit our forces. When next we go to war, I will ensure that War Weariness will not be a factor.

Best regards to my opponents in this election. While fine individuals each, the best choice, of course, is myself, with Aysee as my right-hand man. ImpSoc to victory! Workers of the world, unite (under English guidance)! All Hail Britannia!

With this in mind, I firmly believe that the Ireland question must be resolved at long last to bring further peace to our nation. We must re-engage the Khan and strengthen our alliance with our neighbours, who could become a strong friend in a mutually profitable relationship. Conflict with them benefits no one but the undertakers and our enemies, neither of whom need our help.

Now is the time for peace, calm and prosperity and I firmly believe that I have the reasoned judgement and the voice of sanity to bring these to fruition. Should I be victorious, I will seek out the most suitable people for my cabinet regardless of party to make sure that I leave as good a legacy as possible for the next President who will be able to expand our borders once more.

As the polls are now open, I would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for the position of President.

Under the coalition agreement of the last term, I was assured that the coalition would remain in force with myself as the Presidential candidate for this coming turn.

You have seen how reasoned my arguments have been, how I have been able to build bridges between all those who share the dream of a strong England and I am ready, willing and able to take on the position and lead our nation to a bright new future.

We have finally reached the point where our war with Saladin has been won. We have broken a major power and reasserted our strength in the world with the supreme efforts of our military forces. Now is the time to bury our dead, heal our wounded and allow our heroic warriors to return to their families, realigning our focus onto our unhappy citizens back home who wish a return to peace.
 
Wait i thought that we could still run, and that rule was only put forward in propoistion by ravus? I must have forgot that you had made it an official rule...sigh. Young memory fail.

....that means the TW isnt available to run either. According to the front page, nobody else is in his party. If this is wrong, and you dont want me(or anyone else)to get these things wrong anymore, then update the front page!

...That means we only have 2 active parties that can put forth a candidate. Its up to independants to join a party to make its leader eligible from now on....OOC:Ravus will you help some old friends? Next election when we have a chance of winning at least?
 
arya, I have 2 declared members in my party (Fellow & dukeblackstone iirc) if you care to look back at the last election!

Ravus, I will always stand for President regardless of whether victory is likely or not. Someone needs to put up reasonable and sane arguments against the incumbents and it seems that only I can fill that void. I hope others will realise this before we are thrown into chaos and only the voices of extreme action are listened to.
 
TT, can you accept that other views are sane as well? They might not be completely unbiased, but they are sane. I have seen very few Ideas I would classify as insane during this RP. The only difference between most of the others and your's are that they tend to be influenced by ideals, wheras yours are almost pure pragmatism.

DT I do not say that other ideas are insane, but I am of the belief that decisions made based on ideals instead of pragmatism does lead to trouble and can sometimes be quantifiably insane.

Remember how my party came about - we were in the ilduce crisis and everyone was going crazy nuts and I made a stand to bring the game back to discussing the important issues and try and take the major flights of idealism out of the decision making process, hence the name 'The Party to Restore Sanity'.

My arguments are that I am representing the sensible, moderate and non-idealistic policies our country should follow. My policy proposals are made outside of any major ideals outside the desire to make England as strong as possible. This approach will never change. It works better when there is chaos and argument (see last election) than a major coalition of agreement (this one) but being RP, chaos can't be too far away!

So to finally answer your statement, I do not argue that the other people's views are insane - simply that my approach is more pragmatic.
 
Well TW i vaguely remembered a memeber or two in your party, but its not on the front page. It was more a reason for LH to start updating the front page more often, than an attack on your candidacy.

And in several poists you have implied that other's policies are not sane. And idealism is part of politics. Its part of life. Deal with it, as long as it isnt too radical (and in this game its not, unless you want to argue that communism or free market or war is radical, in which in this game they arent, although IRL the first and third are (the third to a certain degree)).

Firstly I would like to see where I have said that other people's policies are not sane, as I do not believe I have gone that far. I am prepared to comment on and criticise other policies but there have been instances where people have got a bit too caught up in idealistic flights of fancy and going for city razings and expensive wars.

Idealism may be part of politics but it is not the whole of politics. My own 'idealism' is that pragmatism trumps idealism when it comes to the important issues regarding our nation. I do not like your tone which seems to suggest that idealism is all-important. Yes it is sometimes fun for idealism to make some interesting statements and will occassionally come up with a cracking idea, but I firmly believe in sensible decision making.

You may well disagree with my position and whilst it may not be the most 'interesting', I think it provides a much needed contrast to the entrenched ideologies and stops some people getting a little carried away.
