ilduce, once again you have miss-read my post. Go back, re-read it.
Exactly, that all I wanted you to say.

This is good, but the downside is that the German units are an age behind modern units. I expect that we will still take heavy losses raiding the city, but this should give us a chance. I recall hearing that we still have a Catapult of our own. That should help give us a fighting chance.
We could upgrade the swordsmen, oh wait we have no cash. :p

@Mech: No we build an economy, the we smash the IRA

We could upgrade it with pillage gold...Oh wait, we need it for our economy. Ah well, It'll just have to be a suicide unit, I guess...

Seriously? Are you really a high level Civ player? Gold comes from city CAPTURE, but not from razing it.

Capture gold was what I meant. And razing is bad. We need to keep the cities!

EDIT: Chat, people.

Edit: Never mind.

Some cities, yes. Specifically those with long-term potential. Others should be razed so we don't have to pay maintenance (the poorly placed ones). They can always be re-settled later.

I think he meant that razing the city doesn't affect the ammount of gold you get...

Since the current war plan only calls for the capture of one more city, the matter is mute.

NO! NO! Capture Rome, I shall not sleep until Britannian armies are marching through the streets Rome singing songs of victory.

After Medio, the war's over. One way or another. Even with the influx of German troops, the peninsula is going to be bloody to take. We're pushed to the limit. If Rome doesn't capitulate after the assassination and/or fall of Medio, I doubt we can do much more for a long while. Until new troops start marching out at least. In which case, the war that was probably only suppose to last the first quarter of Whosit's term will now last well over half and keep him from getting anything done to fix the economy.

And this is at a time where we BADLY need to modernize the economy.

Correct. And when did I call myself high level? I can barely win Emperor on my best days., as opposed to you god-ilduce.

With a praet/quencha rush, in an unfair settings on. And have I ever bragged, unlike SOMEONE?
