Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would give everything I ever had to not be speaking in front of you today.

Our great leader, Alcazar Leon, and 15 innocent guards, have been struck down by the foulest of deeds. Alcazar Leon was struck down three days ago by a cowardly sniper bullet while addressing you on this very platform today. He was giving a speech on how he would reform the nation, and bring prosperity to us all. Unfortunately, he will never fulfill that dream. He lives on in the hearts of all of us. No words can express our sadness, but we must move on. We must carry on his dream, and strike down those who are the stealers of life.

The assassin was part of the radical religious organization called 'The Lord's Soldiers'. However, they are not holy men. They are cowardly beasts, who have no soul. Why else would they turn back on their beliefs and kill 16 innocent men? Sixteen of our brothers, whom we did not give the slightest provocation. Jesus Christ has always preached peace and understanding. God told us 'Thous shalt not kill'. And yet, the very people who we look up to for religious guidance have instead left us with 16 bloody bodies and broken dreams. Have no doubt, 'The Lord's Soldiers' will indeed pay for this. We had no quarrel with them, indeed, we hoped to forge some sort of friendship with them after Alcazar Leon was to finish his speech. Now, they have declared war.

We must have unity among our ranks. We must preserve in the face of this adversary. We must cooperate with the peoples of Nueva Leon, to bring peace and justice to all and for all.

Alcazar Leon has not died in vain.

May God bless Nueva Leon, and may Leon rest in peace.

What have you been smoking? We all know the government news is mostly untrustworthy. We did not 'ally' at all. Our original intent was to secure our own stake of land along the east road and to secure the countryside for our supporters. The reason we had worked with the government originally was to reform the nation, and they were generous to give us a base in Bonita. We do NOT work for the government. We work WITH the government in order to come with more agreeable terms. We do not condone or advocate any violence against the other organizations in the area. All we wish for is a democratic government and a stabilized Nueva Leon. Plus, we never had any offer of friendship from you, either declared nor secret. Now having said that, do you take back such a ridiculous statement, or does it stand?

P.S: Our system of government will hold immediate elections with tamper-proof votes so as to find who the nation really wants at its helm. Therefore, General Manuel Archuleta will most likely NOT retain his executive power at all.

While we agree in stopping violence, I believe it is much easier to deal with the problem if organizations are convinced not to do it. We try to keep the peace in Bonita, in exchange for at least some local freedoms. We are certainly not anti-government, but we do believe that democracy is a good thing.

Having said that, we shall, for now, stop public speeches to avoid more violence and such, either from public crackdowns or assassination.

BTW, bestshot, I still have not gotten a reply for the costs from the PM.

Short story about how Angelo became part of the Lord's Soldiers.

The Day

I remember the day well when General Manuel Archuleta marched his men into the city, Leon City, and demanded he became the next president of our fair nation despite the people calling for democracy. I stood with the other generals who still had men under their command and fought for control of the city. We fought long and hard and I lost half my men in the bitter fighting. I was almost killed myself when one of Archulet’s soldiers shot me in the shoulder only a few centimetres from my heart. So the coalition of generals was scattered and I lost contact with them. But this is not the day I speak of. No. It was the day after that was important. That would change my life.

I had never been a religious man but after the events of the fight for the capital I felt I ought to confess my sins. Little did I know the danger of such a confession. So as I approached the church of my hometown Bonita to speak to Farther Angelo, my good friend from childhood and priest, I was not alert. I did not hear the small cry of “ Another comes. We may catch five this day yet!” I walked into the church and nothing was amiss and then I stepped into the confessional box.
“Farther, I wish to confess my sins.”
“What are they my child”
“ I have killed several men and rebelled against my superior. What is my penance?”
“ Prison or death if you are lucky”
A fist emerged through the hole were the grille should have been and then I realised this was a trap set to caught me.

Bang! I was out.

When I woke up I was bound on the floor with two soldiers standing over me. As soon as they saw I had woken up they started to kick me. Hard. In the rips. At his point Farther Angelo appeared and demanded to know why a man was bound and being beaten on the floor of his church and the soldiers replied by shooting at him. Angelo dived behind some pews and found my pistol were the soldiers had kicked it in their haste to disarm me. He picked up the gun. Raised the gun. Bang! Bang! Two heads exploded. The bullets were hollow-points.
“You are a good shot my friend,” I called “ But how good are you with ropes.”
“Good enough,” came the reply. I was untied and then sat down on a pew.
“You should sit Farther. The shock of your first kill will set in soon.”
Angelo sat down and then asked “ When did you first shoot a man?”. I waited for him to finish being sick before I replied. But before I had the chance to I was go lost in a world of memories. Angelo got me out and back to safety. He became a trusted friend and advisor and convinced me to become a proper Christian and to fight for a theocratic goverment. What happened next will be told another day.

All paramilitary will be defending my turf, patroling with the same orders as last turn or training with my eilte from last turn. Raids on military bases and corrupt officals will start up. Officals will be stripped of their wealth to make some cash. Mil bases will have weapons and hardware taken. Father Angelo with a bodyguard will go and try to gain surport and gauge the public reaction to the incidents last turn. If it is good raids will continue. If bad they will stop.
