Navy: none
Air Force: none
Structures: 1 camp
Government: Socialist Democracy
Base: East of Punta Gorda

Orders:

Set up defensive points throughout the city. Make sure they are numerous, as our forces are used to being mobile, and must remain so.

Using the tunnel network in place, dig tunnels under the Fascist forces. Fill the tunnels under them with modified ordnance and other explosives taken from the ex-Fascist barracks. Detonate it all simultaneously.

Before the tunnels are used to explode, have one tunnel dug under the enemy and out towards the jungle. Send 20 paramilitary out through it, then collapse it.

Try to convince the people of Punta Gorda to rise up and fight the Fascist forces, so they may be free.

Whenever a point in the enemies perimeter is weak, exploit it by attacking it for no more then a couple of minutes. This will hopefully demoralise the enemy.

Set up loudspeakers facing the Fascist forces besieging the city. Have them send a message to the enemy explaining how they are working for a dictator who is only interested in power, how they are killing their own countrymen who are fighting for freedom, and how they are fighting for the wrong side. Broadcast them the offer to join the PRNL. Have this play 24/7.

lol, Well I'm not that important. But I doubt you were referring to me.

Cabral Republic Promises To Protect Santa Nabaco. Columbia, Cabral Republic. The Cabral Republic, earlier this month, made it public to the world that the small, start up island nation of Santa Nabaco is now under their protection. They have threatened to use military force against any nation who attacks the island. This declaration was made after an meeting between the two nations led to the agreement that Santa Nabaco would allow the Cabral Republic to set up oil rigs in the waters around the island. It is yet to be seen how General Archuleta will react to this, as he still considers the island to be a part of Nueva Leon, even though many religious people in the north have fled to the island to escape Archuleta and many have even picked up arms to defend the country, which the Pope himself has recognized as a true nation.

The Siege Of Punta Gorda. Punta Gorda, Nueva Leon. The siege of the city of Punta Gorda continues this month, even with some minor setbacks. More will be detailed about the battles in and around the city in the special spotlight section.

Comm Tech Declares Bankruptcy. Estacado, Nueva Leon. Comm Tech president Leonardo Mariel filed for bankruptcy early this month. With the threat battle always on the rise, people have neglected to pay their energy bills and, with no one to enforce the payments, Comm Tech has been unable to collect the money. So, Leonardo Mariel, having no choice, has declared bankruptcy and closed up shop. Most people haven’t noticed, as many are too poor to afford electricity in their tin shacks, anyways.
Casualty List:
-Comm Tech.

General Harick Still Hiding Safely. Estacado, Nueva Leon. General Harick is still hiding safely in his base, guarded by his body guards and soldiers. They did do a few ambushes on light government convoys passing along the highways into and out of town, but for the most part, they’ve been sitting safely at their base, roasting marshmallows, telling ghost stories, and having an all-around good time. Because of his quietness over the past few months, and the reassurance that he’s actually a pretty good guy from Amon Savag, the people of Estacado seem to have forgotten how big of a threat he really is.

The Battle of Valdez. Valdez, Nueva Leon. The combined forces of the FARC and Paz y Democracia, under command of the foreigner Chris Jacobs, have begun to attack the city of Valdez, quickly moving into the outlying areas, setting up roadblocks, and cutting the city off from reinforcements coming along the highway, though the river is still open. Paz y Democracia’s paramilitary forces have been used for the bulk of the fighting, as there are many more of them than there are FARC soldiers. Padre de Leon, throughout the battles, has kept up his propaganda radio broadcasts to all sides, encouraging the coalition forces, while demoralizing the government troops inside the city. The coalition has been able to capture the outlying areas, but has yet to move into the city itself, which, although having about equal number of soldiers on both sides, the government still has armor (though two tanks were captured, and another five destroyed during a nighttime raid by Jacob’s personal elite paramilitary soldiers). For now, it is a standoff between the two sides, who continue to mortar each others’ positions and launch brief attacks and counter attacks against the other side’s lines. However, seeing this as the promised revolution, many locals have picked up arms, both in and around the city, to fight for Paz y Democracia.
Casualty List:
Nueva Leon: -200 Militia, -100 Paramilitary, -7 Light Tanks
Paz y Democracia: -200 Paramilitary
FARC: -60 Militia

P.L.A.N.L. Forces Run Into Vasquez Cartel. El Cerrito, Nueva Leon. While patrolling in the jungles north of the city of El Cerrito, forces under control of the P.L.A.N.L. and those under control of the Vasquez Cartel ran into each other, just outside one of the Cartel’s “plantations”. After a tense moment, the rebels weren’t sure if the Cartel guards were government, and the Cartel guards weren’t sure if the rebels were from a rival operation, both sides turned around and went back home, with no aggressive action towards each other.

ADNL Armed With NATO Weapons? El Cerrito, Nueva Leon. This past month has seen a rise in action against the government north of the city of El Cerrito, by the organization calling itself the ADNL. Though they’ve been mostly peaceful in the past, this last month they have conducted a few minor engagements against government troops. For the most part, this has only lead to minor casualties to both sides, though one interesting thing was discovered. On the bodies of the few dead ADNL soldiers they were able to find, the government troops report NATO weaponry, specifically M16s. These findings raise suspicious questions as to who the “volunteers from America” really are.
Casualty List:
Nueva Leon: -10 Militia
ADNL: -5 Farmers

Government Forces Desert. Isabella, Nueva Leon. After the arrival of a couple hundred government militia forces to help defend the city of Isabella and hunt down Aaron Perez last month, they have been bombarded with propaganda about how bad the government really is, and it seems to be working. This month, fifty soldiers were found missing from their post, it is assumed, to either join the rebels or to just escape from the government. This has been answered by the arrival of more disciplined paramilitary forces to the city.
Casualty List:
Nueva Leon: -50 Militia

***Spotlight: The Siege of Punta Gorda.***

The Siege Continues. Punta Gorda, Nueva Leon. The rebel forces holed up in the city of Punta Gorda have fought bravely this month, though they have taken very heavy casualties. While most of the fighting has boiled down to a similar situation as the one in Valdez, the government has still had the luxury of a steady stream of reinforcements. In the north, a daring breakout was attempted, though it failed, miserably, resulting in the destruction of both URPG’s technicals, and their shiny new tanks, not to mention quite a few deaths to their soldiers. The reason for the failure is only to blame on the poor tactical knowledge that the leader, Huvi Ulia. He has been able to inspire his troops to keep fighting, though their numbers are growing thin. Hopefully, with the breakup of the government blockade, some relief might be able to get to the defenders (such was the case with their tanks). In the southern districts of the city, however, the defenders have been much more conservative. It is known that they have tunnel networks under the city and in the area surrounding it, as the government has found a few of these abandoned tunnels, but it appears they’ve yet been able to dig one far enough to get supplies in from under the attackers, so, for the most part, they’ve been hiding out in hard points, fighting off the government troops when ever they launch a probe, raid, or attack, taking minimal casualties, thanks to their leader’s military knowledge.
Casualty List:
Nueva Leon: -200 Milita, -150 paramilitary
URPG: -150 Farmers, -50 Militia, -2 Technicals, -2 Light Tanks
PRNL: -50 Farmers, -20 Paramilitary

De Soto River Blockade Disbanded. Punta Gorda, Nueva Leon. Early this month, as the fighting in Punta Gorda continued to grow, two helicopters from the south west flew in at night, both unmarked. One, an attack helicopter, fired on the patrol boats and corvettes of the blockade in the de Soto River, west of the city of Punta Gorda. The other, a transport helicopter, proceeded to dump sea mines into the river, in the middle of the mass of ships. As the crews scrambled to get their boats moving to escape the fire from the attack helicopter, a few hit the sea mines and went under. The surprises attack only lasted a few minutes, in which time the helicopters fled westward, into the Republic of de Soto, though they were obviously not of the type of helicopters used in de Soto’s military, which has led many to believe possibly the FARC, who has themselves an unmarked transport helicopter, to be behind the attack. In any event, the remaining ships slinked away, down river, and did not return. Officially, the government has said they haven’t continued with the blockade because they are afraid of hitting more mines, though many also assume it could be because of political pressures put upon them by the Republic of de Soto to end the blockade, or get invaded.
Casualty List:
Nueva Leon: -1 PT Boat, - 1 Corvette

OOC: Okay guys, you all seem to be forgetting the rule about needing at least a camp if you have anything other than Farmers, infantry-wise. Starting next update, if you don't have camps, or your soldiers aren't stationed inside a city, you'll start to get punished for it.

Oh and, that secret person? Never got their orders in. Shame, it would have made things much more interesting.

Declare that their sacrafice shall not be forgotten! Viva Demorcracy!

Also, there are more people here than to the south. We will soon start a hidden offense!

to you Punta Gorda people, remember that most of the non-combatants fled the city, and those that stayed were the ones who picked up arms to join your sides, so you don't have to worry too much about civilian casualties, however, the civilians in Valdez, they haven't fled, yet.

Oh, dude, Filhos should also have 10 Trucks. Please check the orders I've sent. And... did the balloon and truck scouts find no useable resources on the island?
