Recruitment-call for besiegers.

If this goes well, there's like a dozen [wiki=List of sieges of Constantinople]sieges of Constantinople[/wiki] that could be made...

x-post with Cheatem! I'm beginning to become a younger Mirc.

1. Time? 1 hour per turn, I suppose. Or whetever the minimum is (it's 2 hours/turn in EFZI)

It would be best if you also used 2 hours per turn if you want to use hours, because EFZI uses months as hours, and there are only 12 months in a "year" (day).

Guess it'll have to be 2 hours/turn then.

Nah, then I could do 'day one' 'day 2' and so forth.
Can I make it 'day 1-day', 'day 1-night', 'day2-day'; or 'day 1', 'night1', 'day2', etc.?

These will help ya:

Basically, what I'd need is a wall (impassable terrain) and some towers (high def, no wheels) which would serve as shooting platforms for the defenders' archers and slingers. Im not sure on how to implement gates. Perhaps they could be the Lm version of the towers, with invisible roads on them so that the cavalry can burst through.
the best towers would be square ones. :)

Can you do a mantelet?

Models do a good job, but I will not turn into flats

I've imported it into Blender:

Simple model, but effective. Do you mind if I tinker around with it?

What do you mean by 'will not turn into flats'? Do you mean that you can't animate it?

It's a wheeled land transport. It can basically take the hits from archers, missiles, etc. inside the fortress. Those 'special' archers will be immobile and on the towers along the wall. They'll have boosted bombardment stats. :)

It's not necessary, but it would look better than a mantelet moving all by its own. :) it would be useful in any event.

I'm not sure... perhaps it should be the other way around and the mantelet could be immobile and should be carried by the infantry? Then it wouldn't need a human behind it.

I have to re-install AOE I, and extract houses, walls, etc., then i'll have to wait until a gfx guy can come and put them together. :)

Terrain, for now. Keep it simple. I can do some editing, but not much.

I'm not sure on whether to use trolls or Mammoths.

It may be tough to do it for terrain... because it will be tough to get the wall to fit in 1 terrain tile. It may have to be fit together on 2 tiles in the 4 directions of the wall, along with the corners. It should work, but will likely use many of the different terrain types in order to make it look good.

Since it is closer scale, it would be nice to use a road terrain also that leads into the castle gate.

I still would suggest using 1 land terrain as a moat (instead of using water), and give it a negative defense. It can stop all movement with a high movement cost. Perhaps as an incentive for units to try to cross the moat, a tough primary single gate could be gaurding the road that passes over the moat ahead of the main castle gate.
