I just got a new machine with Windows 7. I installed the game (BTS) and patched up, and also added Bat2.0 mod. Everything seems fine, except the red igloos. My nearest neighbor in my current game is Sitting Bull, and I can see most of his units fine, except that he has a knight traveling around with a worker and a catupult, but istead of seeing the units, I see three red igloos. I can mouse-over the igloos to see what is under them. I don't see any other units anywhere with this red shield of anonimity.

I am at work now so I can't tell you what my graphics card is or take a screenshot. Has anyone else seen this? Any idea how to fix it? Thanks.

I have not tried it without the mod. On my former computer it worked fine with or without the mod, but not so much on my new machine.

If it continues I will try it without the mod. Thanks.

the red blob issue is caused by some graphics file either missing or not correctly tied into the game code - hence my question about the mod-less game, since that would make it possible to decide whether the mod has a problem or the game install :)

Ori,

Would I be better off just unloading the mod or uninstalling the mod (is that even possible?). I guess I would then need to start a new game and see if the issue comes up, or would I be able to load an earlier save of the game where the problem first came up.

I'm sure by now you have deduced that I am not the most literate computer user around.

Thanks.

Yes, it says BAT Mod 2.0 in the upper right corner.

I am attempting to post a screenshot...the red blobs are a knight.

At the bottom of the menu that allows me to Play a Game or Load a Game, I have the option to unload the mod. When I unload the mod I can not load a save from that particular game, of course. I would probably have to start a new game with Sitting Bull and see if his knights are red blobs, as that seems to be the only unit affected (so far).

Is there a fix or some work around?

The problem is with the version of Varietas Delectat included in BAT. You can install the latest version of VD and copy the files over those in BAT. Note that every version of VD has had some graphic issues--it's a huge mod with a lot of community graphics. It's hard to test every unit of every civilization for each release.

Thanks, EmperorFool. I will give that a shot this weekend.
