[GS] Release time on Steam is wrong?

Yes this. I am wondering if I should leave my computer on overnight to get the expansion loaded so it will be ready to play when I get up. But that may not work because sometimes you have to fiddle with things to get it to load.

Shouldn't be too big of a footprint. I don't recall how big R&F was but it took just a few minutes.

Your few minutes are my hour ... (in other words: connection speeds vary.)

I understand that. I used to have a 4 baud modem but these days........well, in my case it's slightly faster. In all honestly, I wouldn't move to a place that had slow internet as it's been a priority for me for some time.

Good luck on slow download. Is that a Germany thing or a rural thing?

My internet has the possibility of being fast, question is how much do you want to pay. I already pay over $50 a month for the slowest connection. Ridiculous prices. I didn't count how long it took to download Civ6 and R&F with my new computer, but at least 2 to 3 hours.

A personal thing ... I am cheap. ;) :p

Edit: Somehow ninjad by Disgustipated.
On a more serious note: for most applications, my intrernet speed is fine (even for online games).
It's just that game and movie downloads can take their time.
But how often do I purchase games in one year? Not so often! So does an inconveniently long waiting time every now and then justify a monthly cost increase of 300%?
I decided against it.

So has anyone figured out in which time from now first release will be (or all in same time) ... 4 hours from now , 5 , 12 ?

For me the release is 7 am, which is just perfect. I'll just skip reading the news and start playing right after waking up.

Also, WTH is it with those crazy American connection prices? I get 10Mb/s for free, and a 100Mb/s connection for paying 10€/month extra. Even on my phone, 100Mb/s costs just 25€/month (and that includes 1200xSMS + 1200 min talking).

Yeah, can be crazy. I live in Florida and my "cable bill" is $190 per month! Approximate breakdown is $10 for phone, $50 for TV, $50 for Internet (150 MB/s download, 25 MB/s upload), $40 for premium TV channels for the wife, and the rest is taxes and fees.

Don't forget to turn off your mods before installing.

Good call. I'll do that as soon as I get home.

I'm torn. If I call in sick tomorrow, I can play all night. But if I don't, I'll end up getting overtime this week, so I can pay for the game just by showing up to work. I may try to play an hour or and then go to work.

Man, remind me because I can't remember . . .

I'm like realllly close to finishing a game but might not be able to play tonight. How to turn off automatic patch? I should just abandon and start playing the new stuff but I like how this game is shaping up.

You can put Steam in Offline mode.

Anyone know when to expect the launch patch? Trying to work out if I have time to finish my last R&F game...

My line of thinking is that they will save the patch notes until after today's livestream so they don't get bombarded with questions and comments about them. So the actual patch will likely occur sometime between then and GS release tonight.

If I remember correctly, there was no preload for R&F. I don't think Steam offers preload for DLC, but I might be wrong.
