This mod gives you the oppurtunity to build a religion in each of your cities. Religion is symbolized by improvements, which will replace each other if they are in the same city, (like factories). The religions are Catholicism, Protestant, Orthodox Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Polytheism. Each Civ is programmed to pick the one they are famously known for (via Flavors). Have fun. :D

NOTE: It's a .rar in a .zip :crazyeye:

Nice idea, I do remember some discusion about it, does the AI handle it ok?
also plythiesm is a type of religion not a singular religion, I would sugest changing to hinduism and possably some eastern religions.....

I disagree. Using "Flavours", you can only create 7 religions. I wouldn't replace "Polytheism" with "Hinduism" because India is the only Hindu nation in civ.

I agree with adding Buddhism to the game as the 7th flavour, however.

Another idea would be to replace "Polytheism" with "Paganism", to represent all the civs in the game who's religion is at present extinct. (E.g. The Celts, the Sumerians.)

Yes, but for as much as you can include the 3 main branches of Christianity you can't include all the polytheist religions.

So many religions and so few posibilities ... *grumble*Stupid editor limts.
Nice ideas btw. :goodjob:

I agree with the other folks here, change Polytheism to Paganism.

I originally wanted to have all the branches of Christianity (3), Judaism and Himduism (5), and Buddhism, Atheism, and Islam (8) and Polytheism (9), but that's too much, so I narrrowed it down. Hinduism has just one big country as it's follower (India) and Atheism is a communist thing, not really a 'National Religion'. The reason I didn't call Polytheism Paganism is that to me, a Pagan is something that people once worshiped, but Is considered false, such as the Norse Gods, but the Hindu's believe in more than one God, and I'm sure they don't think of themselves as Pagans. Also, some people in back-water Mexico still worship Quatzcoatl (or however you spell it) and Tlactoc in times of drought. I think I'll keep Polytheism, Polytheism.
Also, I don't think any country still largely is Buddisht, except for Nepal and Bhutan, but they aren't in CivIII. Taoism is still a large religion, but I count it under Polythiesm (although it really isn't) and actually Zoroastrianism makes more since to include than Judaism as Persia once was Jewish, but was mostly Zoroastrianic(?). I might add that in an update. Thanks guys.

Ya, but India would really be more Hinud, and China is supposed to be Athiest because of its Communism.

Paganism isn't extinct. My girlfriend's a pagan. Also, atheism is hardly just a communist thing - I'm an atheist but not a communist. But then, atheism isn't a religion, any more than theism is a religion (although both can be elements in religions), so it would be daft to include it in such a mod.

Good work, anyway!

No, what I mean when I say that Atheism is a Communist thing is that Communism promotes Atheism, and will hardly except any other religion. You can be a atheist, but that doesn't make your country Atheistic.

Also, Paganism will never be extinct, but hardly anybody still worships that way. Also it depends on what you call "Paganism".

You'd be surprised - there are lots of pagans about - neo-Pagans, anyway. There's little or no historical connection to the old-time paganism, but they aim to believe and do much the same things. Trust me, our flat's full of statues of gods with horns and suchlike, and I have to keep cleaning up used spell components...

What's Neo-Paganism?

Personally I'm a strong believer in Catholicism, but unlike some hard-headed Catholics I don't think that other non-believers should burn in Hell. I think other religions are interesting to research and study. What do Neo-Pagans believe? Just wondering.

Neo-pagans believe all kinds of things, since it's really a movement rather than a single religion. Probably the most important neo-pagan religion is Wicca (which is also the only religion to have come out of England!). Have a look here for more information, but be aware that Wicca and other neo-pagan movements probably suffer from more misinformation, especially on the Internet, than any other religion (even Christianity...). Plus, anything they say about Christianity is typically wrong, which doesn't help.
