Return of the Shadow: The War of the Ring

The download link to Lord Malbth's Return of the Shadows: War of the Ring leads to Megau[load, which the US Feds have seized. Any other way to get this scenario? I am dying to try it.

I'm a great fan of LOTR and the Tolkein universe, and this would be a nice addition to my collection.

It appears that you did not read the previous five posts...

We haven't found anyone with the mod who will upload it, yet.:(

Yes, Sorry, got a little lazy and didn't read to page 8. Was recovery from surgery and trying to pass the time. It's back to work Friday, so we'll see after the weekend.

PMed Lord Malbeth to request re-upload.

Thank You. I wait with baited breath, passing the time with ROTCWinter's Lord of Middle Earth and the LOtM MOD (I'm gonna lose a lot of sleep).

I'll dig around to try and find it. My computer was hit with a bug, so I lost a lot of files. I know I backed it up SOMEWHERE, I just need to find out where that somewhere is....

Many thanks from the masses.

Sorry to hear about your computer getting bugs. :(

For the future, may I suggest Linux. I have a Toshiba with AMD 50 processor. My Linux (Ubuntu 11.10) partition does almost all the work, and I use the Windows 7 partition for storage. Linux is practically virus-free and I run everything through CLAM anti-virus (Free) before I run or move anything.

Civ 3 runs great under wine. Civ IV, too, with some graphics deprecation.

Anyway, Best of Luck, Thanks again!

I have the files and will upload them. Hope they are the latest ones. Can anyone recommend a good site to upload too?

I have just put Ubuntu 11.10 on my computer. I'm not very good with Linux though. Would you be able to pm me how you got it going in wine. I've tried before with poor results. Also, can the editor be used with wine?

That is awesome. If all works well, I may just move over. Windows drives me nuts.

So, has anyone uploaded the Return of the Shadows mod yet?

Link still leads to Megaupload.

Thanks.

I am DLing this now. Thanks a million, I am the first!

Please PM me with your results with Wine. I am a firm believer in Open source and the Caracas Declaration. We are , after all, fanatics of Civilization.

downloading as well , thanks .

Thanks a ton nick0515! I need to find my other lost scenarios. I know I have them saved SOMEWHERE, I just can't remember where exactly...

Also, now that my studies are winding down, I'll probably retweak this scenario when I have time and post a patch. There was quite a list of issues that need to be fixed before it's "perfect" a couple of pages back. I'll look over those again.

Lord Malbeth;

Congrats on the MOD. I played two half-hour rounds as Gondor on my laptop in Wine -- no crashes or issues, but
I got discouraged 'cause I lost Osgiliath and Minas Tirith very quickly.

Played 2 hours and 33 minutes (and 57 seconds) as Rohan and lost via VP; however, I throughly enjoyed the play -- and it worked on my iMAC G3 with the MAC CIV III Complete without a single play issue or crash.

Can't wait to see what you tweak to improve it.

Job well done, thanx!

Awesomet o hear! Believe it or not, this has been an 8 year ride. I started working on this in 2004. Yikes... that was so long ago! I'm glad people are still around to play it and have fun with it. I really enjoyed making it! :)

Look out for an update (hopefully) this summer.
