Dawn of Egypt

sunr.jpg

The desert winds swept across the empire of the Nile. For centuries the richest place on earth remained a distant barbarian tribedom, possesing little wealth, fighting amongst eachother and not reaching its full potential. However, the Gods soon smiled upon Egypt as a boy who would become a great King was born to his mother in upper egypt. His birthplace would soon become the city of Thebes, capital to all of the land. Narmer grew up as a child of a nomad sheep herder, but soon was adopted into a nereby tribe, and by the age of eighteen Narmer had become chief.

It was when Narmer was chief of the tribe that the wonders of agriculture were discovered. No longer did the people have to wonder in search of foods, following herds, or tending their flock. Great fields were soon planted on the fertile river valley, nourished from the lavishing River Nile. The first structure was soon built by Narmers tribe: a temple to the sun god Ra, the god Narmer would soon claim his patron. The planting season went by, and a new one emerged. Narmer was now twenty two, and his tribe had grown into a large town, which he called Thebes. Soon it became obvious that the sporadic raids were in search of food and wealth. Narmer created the first army in all of Egypt. Narmer's men were soon hailed as the best fighters in the world.

The army only grew. Soon it encompassed thousands of men. Using these men, Narmer set out to unify the lands of the Nile. First he consolidated the south, to maintain order in the realm so that all the resources could be utilized for the largest campaign. Since the agricultural revolution, the north had outpaced the south in agricultural development, being home to the great Nile delta. But even the massive amount of men and grain could not stop Narmer's men. Lower Egypt was soon captured, and that is how a unified Egypt came into existance.

I guess I'll just send basically the same orders again. New story, though.

Empire of California
Government: Theocracy
Economy: recession
Army: tiny Stone Age
Navy: NA
Air Force: NA
Starting Location: San Diego

He said just two words, but they raised his people into a frenzy: "It begins." He was getting good at saying them, as he gave the same speech to any band of settlers he sent out. However, the direction the Empire was settling in had changed. Having expanded a little with no earthquakes, the Emperor was ready to expand away from the great water.

His army was getting a little overwhelmed, so the Emperor considered recruiting more of his subjects into it. However, he determined that the proportion of his people who would then be farming would not be enough to support the army satisfactorily.

In the end, he simply shifted more of his troops away from guard duty, having met no other people yet. But he also encouraged his people to farm more, hoping he could then raise a larger army.

Orders
-Increase Economy.
-Send Settlers east and south, protected by 2/3 of the army.
-The other third of the army remains at home and guards the city and its surroundings.
-Start Wonder: Great Market of San Diego (+4 Economy) (1/?)

One more thing: In the rules you talk about education, but we don't have that stat.

And if we increase something only one level, do we get that for free?

Extract from "The Complete Histroy of the Uralian Culture and Civilization"

Chapter III : The Expanding Tribe

By 4100 BC the tribes had left the mountains and migrated to more fertile land to the west, here they could support a larger population than in the Urals. With a greater number of people the tribe discovered that they must expand to feed the ever growing numbers, thankfully the Don River (correct me if im wrong) was to the south-east and provided the ideal means to support the tribe.

Within 4 generation the area of land with the Uralian people living appon it had increaced by over 50% and with increaced hunting grounds the population doubled from around 6000 tribes men to 12000. The expanding population and land area under of the Uralans contined to grow for many years after the initial expanding around 4000BC.

Orders:
  • Expand South-East
  • Improve Economy

CUSH

The Nile was a magnificent sight as its two tributaries flowed past either side of King Malenge's palace, eventually converging right outside his window. This was the capital of Cush, of the united Nubian peoples who lived north of the Jungle. This was where the chiefs of old had sat down together and agreed to band into a union to face the world as one.

North of this place, the Nile would flow through a vast desert of burning sand. Very few had ventured into this wasteland and returned, and those that did brought back tales of enormous hills blown away by searing winds, and bronze statues that lived as though they were men. True, many of these stories were exaggerations, but which ones were and which weren't was a point of great dispute in the King's court and the common taverns alike.

Therefore, it was resolved to send a great army upriver along the banks of the Nile to settle once and for all whether such "fantastic" sights existed. It would also serve another purpose: that of expanding the borders of Cush through annexation of land and eventual settlement.

What would happen? Only time will tell...

ORDERS
-Expand north along the Nile.
-Increase economy.

I'll take Zululand if ye don't mind

Zululand
Government: Tribal Confedaracy
Economy: recession
Army: tiny Stone Age
Navy: NA
Air Force: NA
Starting Location: Modern day Johanessburg

The Begining of Zululand[

The Zulu people had pretty modest beginings. They were nothing more than a small tribe at first with a capitol city that wasnt very capitol like. The ruler couldnt help but want more for his people and himself. The ruler known as "chief" had visions of a vast Zulu empire second to none. He had the means since his people were fanatically loyal to him and were willing to do anything for his cause. The ruler decided to obtain the first two things important to any empire: land and money.
