Leif Erikson returned to Earth a hero. The landing was a complete success. LASA decided to send up numerous missions to the Moon. It would be known as the Måne Program. Several missions would be sent to the moon over the next 5 years. This would be a Viking endevour. The whole space pact would construct a space station called Space Lab.

At the same time an increased amount of spending would be put into the military. The Navy and Air Force would recieve a huge amount in spending to protect gthe large Viking seas and air.

The new laser was also a very importent tool for commercial needs. As of now it was still a weak beam of lightbut it allowed pin-point accuracy in measuring. This would be very helpful to the military.

King Ahmed-Mulhari Dies
The great King Ahmed-Mulhari Saud I of Saudi Arabia finally passed away on the 3rd March 1020 at 5:40am. The King's funeral was attended by hundreds of thousands of people from all over Arabia and the middle east.
The King's son Prince Fahd Mulhari Saud will be officially crowned King of Saudi Arabia on the 5th March 1020. The prince will also inherit his father's company Mulhari Oil Co.

New King Orders Reform!
King Fahd has already made his mark on Saudi Arabia by completely replacing the old Council of Ministers. His two brothers, Ali and Abdul, have both been relieved of their positions. The King has also made a new law banning public protests, the law states that any who break it are to be punished with death.

Brothers Sentanced To Death
The King's brothers Ali and Abdul have been sentanced to death by the King for treason. Both have been accused of plotting to assasainate King Fahd and take his crown.
The two men will be executed in the square outside the Royal Palace in Ridayh as an example to others.

Nuclear Weapons Successfully Tested!
Arabian Scientists have successfully tested a range of prototype missiles for the Arabian army. One scientist on the team called the tests a "huge" success and said it would have not have been possible without the skilled work of Dr. Abu Hamzad who led the program.
The weapons are set to be given further checks over the next three months before the army takes them into it's control.

Royal Space and Aviation Administration
Today, new plans were announced for the creation of a newer more sound rocket to take Egyptians to the moon. This rocket would now have an escape system with survival gear for 2 days. The launch is set for 29 April at the new Royal Space and Aviation Center outside Casablanca.

Military Expansion
The Egyptian Parliament today passed a bill, increasing the military budget to 5% of the GNP. This will bring up Egypt's military standards and better protect our nation.
