I came with third reason to leave it as-is: Ainwood could have a  tonight instead of working on a patch or designing a new map. I know that he is willing to do anything we would ask, but why not to forgive him and let him relax?

Have not started yet, as usually being late. Can we get a patched file please? Since the impact is apparently minor anyhow at least according to SirPleb?

Late AI/Modern (and certainly heading Modern) - everything patched.

Having to wait for Satellites to worry about MAs would feel almost too easy (if the Tanks haven't got me first!)

Neil.

I have no axe to grind as I don't play C3C, but why do you feel you need a patch before you play, if the impact is minor?

Don't really know, it just does not feel right to play with bugs. Besides, if there is little difference, why it cannot be patched? There is still certain advantage in knowing these bugs do exist compared to those who played the game without knowing it.

I haven't started yet. This sounds messier than it is. I voted to leave it as it is; of the list of Modern Era units, the only one I routinely get is MechInf and only because it comes with Computers.

Only people seriously disadvantaged would be SoZ builders, IMO.

I haven't started yet, but have some vacation time that I was going to use for it later this week. I voted to keep everything the same. Do you know when a decision is going to be made?

I'm only about 50 techs behind and stuck in the AA and the clock says 1500 AD. But all the AIs I know love me and I'm expanding my territory. Play on!! :D

I hope I make it to 1500 AD. ;) I'm at about 1100 BC, and looking forward to the fights ahead.

Oh boy, I made some doosies in this one. And last night I really wanted a full restart, but I knew I was going to abstain from voting. Now I think it should just be left as it is, with everyone playing the same save.

I think that's the only way I'll truly learn my lessons from this game, which isn't over yet. You hear that AI? It ain't over yet!

Civ long and prosper

Ok - thanks for all the feedback.

I see that very few people actually want a patched game - the majority either want to play as-is, or start again on a new map.

On reflection, I think that the 'fairest' option is to carry on as-is, so that those who have already completed the game or got a fair way into it are not disadvantaged.

Please accept my apologies for this momumental stuff-up (you really must be getting used to these by now! :D)

We'll carry on as-is, and we'll see you in the spoilers. :)

While we are discussing the quarter of month passed. ;)
Let us start first spoiler and all will be OK.
About Modern Age units I think the game is mainly made in AA and MA and some changing of the late units is not matter. :D

Well, I ended up voting "I'm a freak" (or rather - unique situation). It looks like the decision is made. I'm not going to feel guilty now about not being able to finish because of other things happening - like a new computer and rebuilding my entire network. I'll just jump in on CotM08. And I was going to have to retrace my turns because the computer crashed and I apparently turned off the auto-saves while fidling with the other controls...

Well I suppose I should be in favour of a restart, but that is only because I was on the on the wrong end of several Ancient Cavalry, which I suppose really should have been Crusaders. I’d like to say that I’d have faired better against Crusaders but I really don’t know in all truth. I had several undefended cities on their boarder and I think I’d have been able to get Knights there in time, if it wasn’t for the Ancient Cavalry.

Bottom line is though, I played the game and lost, and thought it was fair at the time (I still had fun though so that’s the main part). So leaving it as it is, is fine with me, and Ainwood, please don’t stress out about this too much. You do a great job setting up these games, and I really doubt I could run things half as smoothly as you are doing.

I've voted "I'm in another uniqe situation, please see my post below". I haven't actually started yet. Personally I'm not bothered which option is chosen, so long as the choice is made before I do start! My only concern with leaving as is is that us late starters are getting a little spoiler info out of these discussions.
