EDIT: o right I forgot, for if you want to use it. The correct Dutch translation for USA is VSA but the abbriviation that is used is VS :)
 
I shall use my magical powers to dismiss that inconsistency. ;)

On a sad note, I must postpone this until exams and SOLs week is over. Then I shall update. Sorry, I have to study, and I forgot about that week when I made my earlier promise. I might get an update in, but if I don't, know that this isn't dead.
 
Transition
1808​

On January 1, 1799 Diederick van Amsing announced in front of the Gratis Raad that his scientists had completed at long last an important project they had been working on near Amsingstad. The first cotton plantation to begin operation in Amerika had been built successfully, and it was now generating large amounts of income for the VSVA. It was also responsible for an increase in patriotism along the east coast, due to the fact that Amerika was now capable of producing its own clothing. Amsing also unveiled a plan to get the rest of the cotton-capable fields up and running within 50 years. The delay, he explained, was due to the construction of new farms near Amsingstad.

Diederick van Amsing also released a portrait of himself to the Hal van Portretten, a museum dedicated to the voorzitters of the VSVA.

On February 3 of the same year another major event in Amerikan history took place. On this day, the final building in the new government-sponsored city of Fort Diederick was erected. Built along the shore of the eastern Hudson Baai, Fort Diederick was not only an important toehold in the area called Kiebaak, but also a major center for trappers that brought in beaver fur. Until a hunting camp near the beaver rich areas was erected, however, the business would not be enough to meet the demand.

Cornelis van Tjeerd, and the calvalry unit that had been conquering the Indianen held lands of Tejas, had reached the borders of Teotihuacan by 1800, and after two years of testing the defenses and scouting the area, Tjeerd had decided that the city wasn’t worth taking. For one thing it was quite small, and secondly it was surrounded by Mexican lands. Therefore Tjeerd ordered his forces out of the area. In the next years, his decision would be vindicated when the Aztecs absorbed the small Indianen enclave. Of course, Tjeerd’s withdraw was reported by the press as a feat of calculation, and evidence of a great mind inside the body of a great conquereor.

In 1802, just as Tjeerd was reporting his “sucess” to the press in Claixtlahuaca, emmisaries from the Hoge Raad sailed into the docks at ’s-Gravenhage. They were met by Voorzitter Amsing at the Overheid Herenhuis, Government Mansion. When the emissaries left, Amsing proudly announced to the Gratis Raad that he had accepted an offer of Open Borders from Nederland, and that this new treaty would increase the trade income of the VSVA.

Three years later, in 1805, word reached ’s-Gravenhage that the French cities had declared their independence from Nederland, partly inspired by the Amerikan success. Voorzitter Amsing filed this away for the time being, more concerned with the progression of his cotton venture.

In the meantime, Cornelis van Tjeerd had sent his calvalry off on a scouting mission to the west while he went back to the city of Amsingstad to command the military forces west of the Appalaichain Mountains.

Another peice of news, this one somewhat frightening, reached Amsing on Christmas Day, 1805. Plauge had once again made an appearance, thankfully in the Middle East. Nonetheless, Plauge could spread, and when news of the outbreak spread there were some mild riots on the east coast.

On the dawn of the year 1808, another of Amsing’s public construction projects was begun. He set out to create a government run line of grocer stores across the nation. He began construction of the first in the line in ’s-Gravenhage on Dankzegging. It was estimated that the great store, that was supposed to increase the economic output of the capital city by 25%, would take about 12 years.

On May 11, 1808, Diederick van Amsing died of natural causes, according to Inlichtingendienst examiners, at the age of 64. Despite Inlichtingendienst’s assertation that the Voorzitter died naturally, it was a well known fact that the agency had been seeking to replace the Brenger van Vrijheid for many years, and many people believed that it wa likely that Inlichtingendienst had dispatched him in order to install a handpicked succesor. In ’s-Gravenhage, a week of mourning was declared, while the Gratis Raad tried to figure out who would succeed Amsing as Voorzitter. They would not have long to wait, because Inlichtingendienst already had a candidate. Cornelis van Tjeerd, a great military commander and politician, had been chosen as the next Voorzitter many years ago. When Inlichtingendienst officers showed up at his home in Amsingstad, and put him on a wagon bound for ’s-Gravenhage, he reportedly had no idea what was going on. Regardless, by July the VSVA had a new Voorzitter.

At the end of the year of 1808, two major events would take place. First, the founding of Tjeerstad, in honor of the new Voorzitter. Its location was chosen bacause of the abundant food and gold reserves in the area.

Finally, on December 31, 1808, Voorzitter Cornelis van Tjeerd married Amelia Narcott, now Amelia van Tjeerd. It was said that they had been childhood sweethearts, and that Cornelis felt only now would he be able to provide for her adequately.

@Civ'ed: The Amerikan colonies have had 200 years to develop their own dialect. Now, with the breakaway from Nederland and the intermingling with Indianen cultures, the Amerikan dialect is developing into a distinct language.

Now, children. I was thinking of turning this into a GaP/RP type thing at some point when the "lawful" government gets overthrown. Thoughts?
 
Alright- I am unsure what to do next. I need your help.

Considering Tjeerd's military nature, do you think he would only build enough settlers to claim the gold mines, and then stop all settlers, then concentrate on conquering some of central and south america

OR

build up military, and look towards Europe, take out the real threats, and THEN take out some of south america?
 
Tjeerd Doctrine - Europa may do anything it likes, but Amerika should belong to the Verenigde Staten!
 
Why didn't you settle Denver(?) on the oil!
