[RFC RAND] The peoples of the Persian plain

Please continue this thread, it has been great and is the main reason I joined this. Sorry for necroing.

Please update it! :( It's an epic story.

I haven't posted on this forum in ages, but I just wanted to say that this epic story has inspired me to do something similar.

So for the love of everything good and wholesome in this world, FINISH IT! :p ;)

I concur. The other stories on here are pretty great, but this is awesome! :D I will attempt one myself, probably with my pitiful Civ4 Vanilla for Mac but hopefully with my girlfriend's BTS.

Eurasia in War

Rather short but a very good read. Similar writing style to this in the sense that its talking historically. It was the first story I read here and this was the first story after that that I found interesting.

The one thing separating the two stories is the fact that that was is finished.

Thanks, I'll start reading it now since I'm bored of playing AoE1 & 2 while I beat my head against the wall trying to fix my BtS :p

Your BtS is broken as well? I can't play vanilla BtS, I can only play mods.

After downloading 3.19 it asked me to uninstall it. I figured that had to happen for the patch to take effect, and now there are python files missing and I can't start it up.

But yeah, that Eurasia story was pretty good - about on par with this one, I think.

yeah, they are by far the two best stories in terms of writing. But stuff like realpolitik is more enjoyable because they are interactive. I give Eurasia first place simply because the story is finished.

Eurasia is awesome. We should tell Firaxis that YES, we do have fronts, tactics, and decision making with Stacks!

Agree, not to mention how stacks is more realistic. (before world war 1, there was no thin spread out armies, it was all 1 or 2 concentrated attack forces and a few concentrated defense forces.)

Also if you really want to see a pure strategy game. Check out Ilu's other story (this is less the a page so a very quck read) but its how he takes on an enemy 3 times his power and wins simply by using strategy.

What is his other story?
