RFCE++ Beta

One or two cotton resources around the Southern oases in Africa possibly? There is some cotton production in the Northern Sahara but this would mainly represent the trade with civs of the Sudan (like the gold).

Anyone else think that Poland is way too overpowered. They usually catch up to Germany is my games, and easily vassalize Prussia and Lithuania. Germany gets crushed by the combined onslaught of the Austrians and the Polish Alliance

Oddly enough, in one of the 1260 scenarios, Germany was almost completely undefended. Playing as the Bohemians, I conquered the whole place because they had a very small military (3 Macemen and a Longbowmen for the whole kingdom). In another replay of the scenario, I was not so lucky and Germany actually had an army.

Yeah. I've seen the same playing as France. Just rolled over Germany with Templars and recreated the Carolingian Empire.

A quick question, if a civ is in a union, can it then go into another union, assuming all the usual criteria is met? For example, if Spain united with Aragon, could it then unite with France as well when the time comes along, while still controlling Aragon? Thanks!

So it can, right?

Yes. Spain is not still in the union with Aragon after the union event. Aragon is absorbed into the Spain civ. There is no Aragonese entity left over with which to be in a union, Aragon died and Spain got a bunch of cities. Spain did not become Spain-Aragon after the union. Spain goes into the potential union with France as "Spain", just as it did into the union with Aragon. Yes, it can.

@Morholt

I'm eagerly waiting for your next update, I don't play RFCE without RFCE++ nearly as often. :D Any idea when the next release might come?

In the current version there might be a few inconsistencies with the new provinces. I noticed that La Mancha is unstable for both Spain and Cordoba.

I also get the previously mentioned bug where "Burgundy has declared war on Burgundy", etc.

What do you think of cotton in the Southern oases?

Also, would you be interested in a Catalan city name map for Aragon?

I finally got around to merging RFCE++ with the Kmod code so it's back on track. This weekend perhaps?

Cotton I'm not sure, the trans-Saharan trade was mostly gold and slaves according to wikipedia. Possibly ivory could be added.

I would love a Catalan city name map.

When are you merging in the changes from RFCE 1.0?

This weekend perhaps?

:goodjob:

@Morholt, I'll upload the Catalan sometime today or tomorrow.

Are the unique building styles going to be in the next release?

Is Corboda supposed to spawn with one settler?

I think that's accurate, Poland was more powerful than Germany in those times (at least thats what I think).

In my games Poland is always weak. Despite a pitiful Germany in this past game, they fell in the 16th Century and that was the longest I've seen them last. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen them unite with Lithuania until this last game. Then Lithuania broke off and, with help from Hungary and Prussia, ate up Poland.

Hi everyone,

I'm really excited by all the discussion here, but I haven't yet been able to play a game, because I get a CTD every time I try to start a game. What usually happens is that I will click on one or two civs in the scenario start, in order to read their information, ratings, UP, etc., and as soon as I click on the next civ in order to read their info, I get a CTD. I know that the mod is installed correctly. Is the current version still Beta 3? Is it a problem if I have regular RFCE installed? Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I would really like to play this mod!

Update: downloaded the hotfix, didn't see it there on the main page. This time, I was able to select a civ and start playing. The scenario (original, not 1260) was working, but as soon as the auto-turn thingy was ready, I still got a CTD. The message that came with it was simply: "civ4 bts has stopped working" Not sure what the problem is.

I've got an annoying problem: randomly throughout the game, i'll be cruising along just fine, and then BAM!! it crashes. i get a message saying: Failed to allocate video memory. Please try reducing your graphics settings. File:\main\Civilization4SDKs\Gamebryo2_0\CoreLibs\NiDX9Renderer\NiDX9SourceTextureData.cpp, Line:321.
this is followed by a runtime error. Happens largly randomly in the first few turns towards the 1200s, or occasionally when i click on a leader to go into diplomacy mode. same message always. anyone want to help?

Hey everyone, for a long ime I've really enjoyed this mod for the diversity it adds to RFCE so great job!! I was thinking though, and maybe its too ambitious but I'd be thrilled if someone wanted to take it on. My idea is an Rfc Europe that takes place on a bigger map and that passes before 500 ad and past 1800 ad that would truly capture the History of Europe, not just say, Medieval/ renaissance/ imperialist Europe.
