RFCEurope 1.1

It's .../Beyond the Sword/Mods/RFCEurope_1.1/RFCEurope/PrivateMaps/RFCEurope.CivBeyondSwordWBSave
Not sure how you have it in the Assets folder, I didn't do anything to it... so do I cut and paste it where you said?
The mod path has to be just .../Beyond the Sword/Mods/RFCEurope/.

Rename the mod folder by removing the red part. ("_1.1")

EDIT: Crosspost with Pinkpallin

I'm afraid it won't work this way, because there would be two directories RFCEurope one inside the other.
Pieboy, simply unzip the RFCEurope_1.1.zip file directly in ...\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods, it will create the correct folder RFCEurope. You need not create manually any folder.
And you'd better remove the RFCEurope_1.1 folder in order to avoid any confusion.

I already tried unzipping it to that folder and it didn't unzip all of the things correctly.
Although, I will try removing the unnecessary folder.

Ok, that didn't work -.-
I renamed the folder, launched it, and it had options of "Play Scenario", "BtS Content" and "Custom Game", and kept the same menu. Then, I got an idea to put the WB save in the normal place where you put WB saves, and it sort of (not really) worked. It gave me 3 civs to play as, and when I chose one, the game crashed. D:

Great mod!!!

I have a couple of questions.

1. The whip button. The game doesn't complain about missing civics or having not enough population for a whip, but the button is always gray and clicking it does nothing.

2. Barbarians spawning inside cultural borders. Sassanids and Mongols are especially annoying. Is it a bug or a feature? If it's a feature, what'll be the best strategy to deal with them? Could the spawners be removed by improving the tiles?

You can't whip with population in this mod. No matter what civic you have. It's not historical, so this feature is disabled.

A feature, although not all like it. (including me). The only way to deal with them is to have an army that can defeat them.
Or cheating.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of this feature either :) It doesn't even make a historical sense when a Mongol horde sneaks in like undercover Navy SEALs without being sighted before it reaches the gates of Vilnius. In real history, the Mongol horde made a lot of "noise" by pillaging the borderlands before it reached a civ's capital city.

The mongols and a couple other barbs need to spawn inside borders
In the case of Keshiks, we need some pressure on Hungary, Poland, Lithuania and Bulgaria too for historical accuracy
If Kiev is strong enough, it would prevent these things to happen, or at least postpone them dramatically
Also, time is an important factor
It takes at least 15-20 turns for the mongols to cross the eastern part of europe and reach Poland, Lithuania and Hungary. That's at least 50 years
If there aren't any spawn points near those countries, the timeframe would be completely unrealistic either for these countries, or for Kiev

So you can see the mod in the "load a mod" menu in BtS, but still won't load?
Hmm, not sure what's wrong
Maybe set the language to english (if it's not that already)
Also, can you tell me the exact path of the map in the mod?
It should be ..../Beyond the Sword/Mods/RFCEurope/Assets/PrivateMaps/RFCEurope.CivBeyondSwordWBSave
If it's there, you can also start RFCE with that file

It's .../Beyond the Sword/Mods/RFCEurope_1.1/RFCEurope/PrivateMaps/RFCEurope.CivBeyondSwordWBSave

Sorry, my mistake
There is no assets folder there
Also, as it was already pointed out, you have an extra RFCEurope_1.1 folder there

The correct path:
..../Beyond the Sword/Mods/RFCEurope/PrivateMaps/RFCEurope.CivBeyondSwordWBSave

If Kiev is strong enough to hold back the Mongols, surely it is also strong enough to pressure Poland/Lithuania/Bulgaria/Hungary without Mongol help! :) Historical accuracy has to be 'tamperable' with, else you haven't got a game.

Nar. Nah, see what you did there. ;)

What you could try is a fresh install of the game and this patch. Then download the mod and paste it in the exact mod folder that people gave you earlier. Just make sure you don't alter the mod title and stuff. If you edit the .wbs with notepad, one of the predefined constants is

ModPath=Mods\RFCEurope

If the game can't find the mod path (because you changed the folder's name) then it crashes.
