Rhye's of Civilization - the fastest loading mod Expanded - PART II

Something new happened to me. I'm playing Japan for a one city cultural victory, emperor difficulty. I'm in 1960, tech leader, researching globalization and producing 95 culture per turn (winning in 6 turns if I'm not wrong). But I've NEVER been at war since the game began. Never. Even when I was completely defenseless and without a decent army. Obviously, after saying it, every civ in the world will declare war.... But it's the first time that no one comes attacking after thousands years
That is the worst problem in CivIII (and most of its mods though I hvnt noticed it with Rhye's). I think I have almost completely modded it out of the game (in my mod -- see sig). Its strange, though, that you are seeing this is Rhye's game.

Finished now, in 1972. And I can confirm, never been at war. I should say that until about 1000 d.c. I stayed isolated, knowing only Korea an China (less contacts less techs but also less enemies...)

That definately contributed to your peaceful past. But, still, it puzzles me why neither Korea nor China attacked you..... did you ever appease them?

Appease? Don't know what it means. If you intend giving them things just to keep 'em quiet, I'll say no. China (can't say why) remained backward in the techrace, with Japan (me) and Korea sharing our discoveries. Ah, I even built a nearly (theoretically) useless Great Library (for culture), that instead let me catch arabia when I met Abu, Persia and India. Obviosuly education arrived with the techs after a few turns.... By the time I entered industrial age, only three civs were technologically advanced, Spain, Korea and Japan. After building the United Nations, I made a MPP with them, i think no one dared to challenge nuclear power (ehm, truly nuclear not because no one finished the manhattan project..)

I accepted threats two or three times, but their requests were easy to fullfill and no such sacrifice. Such as 100 gold when I had more than 10k or Radio from England when I was researching Fission....

and definitely I love this mod. The next Time il try to mantain constant peace even making early contacts.

Since the challenge will be with the dutch and I never played them, I started a few turns to see them.

The nearby goody hut is taken by the french scout 2 turns before my first warrior is out. So he goes east and meets Russia and get killed by barbarians.
After the warrior I build a scout boat, which arrives to Portugal and get killed by barbs. In the meantime I sold pottery to everyone for every gp they have. French exchanged it for the wheel. And Russia added a Worker. I researched Writing, when finished I had about 190 gold but some Barb Horse archer managed to pillage amsterdam and took all the gold.

Not so good, but it was only a test.

Im very worried about CIV 4 I have a bad feeling they are going in the wrong direction with the game! What do you guys think?
