Rhye's of Civilization - the fastest loading mod Expanded - PART II

Hi. I edited a Rhye's of Civilization (Faster Loading Mod) scenario for a friendly multiplayer game. However, whenever I try to access the scenario, I keep getting this error message:

LOAD ERROR
Missing entry in “Scenarios\Rhye’s of Civilization X\text\PediaIcons.txt”: ICON_
The game will now exit

I'm not sure what the "ICON_" means, nor where the problem is exactly. For every unit, government, improvement, and resource I added, I copied the icon and civilopedia entry verbatim from a pre-existing item within the scenario. Checking back on everything I've added, there isn't any that's out of place.

I in fact have a previous version of the scenario that used the same method for adding units and such. Testing both it and the actual original Rhye's scenario, they seem to work perfectly fine. As such, I have no idea what the problem could be in the final version that I'm getting the error message for upon access.

Could someone please tell me what the problem is?

I have isolated the source of the problem, and have resolved it.

Hi, i like Rhye's mod, the only thing i really don't like is getting a settler from a hut early in the game so often. It makes you at once almost twice as strong. It's not funny anymore! Can't it be disabled?

Am I normal? this mod is terrible, I played it once, all the way up to 1912 with the Mongols. The Tech race was so slow, we were only in the halfway through the middle ages, and the Arabs the most advanced, they were just 4 techs above me!
Secondly, it was slow building cities, when I finally built 4 cities in 500 AD, I was expecting then to begin my horse archer army to attack Russia, like in hisotry.
Nope, my immediate neighbors were Greece and Netherlands and Portugal?
They ran out of space in Europe and everyone starts settling siberia. The New World is basically unexplored in 1912, since no one has astronomy either! (because of slow techs)
So I was extremely bored playing this huge map, waiting for the low turn button to change, over and over again. What we were loading was the other half of the world that I will be lucky to explore by the year 2000. Maybe we wil have left the middle ages by then.

I came from Rhyes and Fall of Civilization 4. And this played the best! Very perfect, the timing was perfect Unique History Victory and the borders of the world stayed in their real life boundaries, making interesting alternate history scenarios.

I regret playing Rhyes and Fall for over 6 hours. Rather play any other mod.

Ok so to start off, i've played CIV4's Rhye's and Fall of Civilization and it was spectacular so kudos to you rhye. Now my issue...

I moved back to C3C and i'm trying to put your mod on but I cannot get it to work!

-I'm on XP
-I'm almost positive my Conquests is 1.22
-I used the installer and the path looks perfectly fine

Problem is that it doesn't show up in civ-content. :(

If you guys want any sort of screenshots (the path, etc) just ask. But i beg of someone in this thread to help me to get this working! Thanks in advance.

Do you have Complete? If you do you tend to see these mods end up with a folder in a folder. Something like ...Conquest\Scenario\Scenario..

No, i have Civ III and then i have Conquests, which i bought separately.

What happens and are you using the 1.04beta (iirc)? Do you get missing files msgs? Do you have the extra patch for stuff from PTW?

1.04 beta of what? (pardon my idiocy :S ) I have not patched PTW. I have never even played online with civ III.

They made a final update to RaR and it is 104beta. It came with the stuff RaR used for play, but was no longer part of PTW for those with C3C. Firaxis made them available as a DL for a time, but then removed I think.

iirc the first page of the thread has the links. I am not sure if the updates are on CFC or Storm. I never actually played the mod, but I did start a game once to make sure it worked.

I tried installing RaR 1.02 (to start) and it doesn't appear in Civ-Content. So i uninstalled conquests and reinstalled (i didnt reinstall RaR) and then i noticed something else. In the screenshot i'm attaching, you can see that none of the scenarios (like the ones that come with conquests) are in the folder. However, I can play all the scenarios but they don't appear in the folder...?

EDIT: Also in the 2nd screenshot you can see that none of the folders/files like "Art", "redist", "Saves", conquest.biq, etc. are visible. Yet in the 3rd screenshot (C3C Edit) you can see them...what's going on?!

It has been long enough that I am not clear on XP any longer. Using Win7. I would look at my view and see if any settings are causing you to not display things. I always use details.

Try using the classic settings. The editor you are using is not the C3C editor, it is C3 editor. I would wonder about the installation. It looks like folders were created and then never used.

Problem solved. For some reason the folders i put in the screenshots were just empty ones... My real folders were on my other hard drive! I don't know how i managed to mess that one up. The mod works :D Thanks a bunch for helping me vmxa!

Ive just d/l this mod and ran the installer thru the Civ3/Conquests/Scenario path and cant seem to locate it anywhere.
Ive got conquests version 1.22........any ideas?

Edit......In looking thru the scenario folder i came across a file folder named conquests............this is where it is located. But when i start the game i cannot find it. Any ideas?

It sounds like you downloaded it to "Civilization III\Conquests\Conquests" whereas it should be "Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios". In your scenarios folder there should be all the biqs for all the scenarios that came with conquests (e.g. Mesomerica) but not any folders for the scenarios. If you installed correctly, there should be 3 folders named "Rhye's of Civilization", "Rhye's of Civilization X", "Rhye's of Civilization XF". Also you should have 2 .biqs, named "Rhye's of Civilization Expanded v1.23 RANDOM MAP.biq" and "Rhye's of Civilization EXPANDED v1.23.biq".

If this isn't applicable then screenies of your folder where it is, etc would be helpful :D
