Rhye's of Civilization - the fastest loading mod Expanded - PART II

Thanks for the help. I'll have to consider picking up one of the expansion packs.

Marc

There are only two and you already have one (though the one you're missing, Conquests, comes with all PTW as well so in essence its the only expansion pack you need).

Does anyone have the files for RoC for Play the World? I was looking around the Modpacks section and there was a PtW version that Rhye released, but the download link is broken.

Good news, everyone: I have finished converting Basic Rhye's of Civilization to Play the World! However, I am not uploading this because of two things:

-Some content from COnquests (Parts of the Civilopedia, and possibly the Legionary work flics and the Medieval Settlers)
-I changed some things (like getting rid of those 'filler' resources, renaming the leader of Austria to Maria Theresia, etc.)

Can I still upload this?

Hello anybody? I need help here!

you could re-upload just the parts that you changed instead of the entire mod. also, be sure that you give credit to anyone that helped make the mod where credit is due.
in other words, don't upload it saying that you did all the work.

just a friendly reminder,
MM ;)

Howdy all! Finally got around to trying out Rhye's of Civ. Simply awesome!

I've built Temples in newly conquered cities. They list culture, but their culture does not grow. I'm in the midst of building Libraries hoping to pop their borders to the fat cross. It's spendy, and for many of the cities there will be no gain beyond the culture. Are Temples not supposed to create culture after a certian point?

Remember that some of the early governments are Xenophobic - that means that a city won't generate any culture until at least 50% of the cities' population is assimilated into your own nationality.

Thanks Virote! I didn't know that. I keep finding more reasons why this game is so much better than the orignal!

It seems that I'm gonna have to join some homeland workers to a few critical conquests.

To all the modmodders, I liked the mod, but the biggest flaw in it is the lack of real European colonization, IMHO. What it needs is a European small wonder which produces free settlers in the Colonization era for some time.

The Khazar Khanate would be a better candidate for filling the Great Steppe and preventing the European cities there.

Mali would be a better candidate for inclusion then Ethiopia, since all that Persian/Carthaginian/whosoever else mess in Western Africa is annoying, while Egypt controlling Ethiopia is less grating on the nerves. Or, a better suggestion, maybe Mali should replace Zululand.

Maybe I'll even release all that changes myself, since I've got a severe modmodder syndrome anyway.

Love the mod but I have a few problems that hopefully someone can help me with, for the last dozen tries I have played as Israel and Germany and for no reason every single country on my continent seems to always declare war on me without any reason! Its so damn frustrating to be involved in wars that last 200+ years and pretty much leaves me far behind in tech, I still was producing spear men in the 1800's!

Is this a common thing or do I need to change the AI's aggressiveness? I have played this mod on Emperor and on the lowest difficulty and still I have 4+ nations always declaring war, I still have not played a game where someone doesnt declare war on me in the first 20 or so turns.

Its okay to edit for personal use right? I figure it would be as long as I didn't distribute it to anyone.

It's definitely OK to edit for personal use, and I don't think that Rhye would mind you distributing it to anyone if you credit him properly and don't ask money for it.

I'm downloading the mod after getting Civ3 to work on my Vista computer via Civ3Complete after the transition from XP to Vista.

I have downloaded it and installed it, but it doesn't show up in my civ content or conquests folders to be played. So any ideas where I am screwing up?

Usually this is because the mod is installed in the wrong folder(s). On my pc, it's *exactly* installed here:

The 'native' *.biq file is in this folder:
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Civilization III Complete\Conquests\Scenarios

Plus, the "Rhye's of Civilization" folder (folders if you have the map and/or expansion):
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Civilization III Complete\Conquests\Scenarios\Rhye's of Civilization

In one of my cities, the resources are lessened like it's in Despotism/Anarchy, yet the rest of the cities have the appropriate amounts -- btw, my government is Oligarich (sp?) Republic. It's strange. The city doesn't have any resisters (it's a native city), no disorder, etc.

Not sure if this matters, but the City Size = 2, and I just reached the Middle Ages. I'm not sure if it's been like that since I switched govts. (about 20 turns ago) or just happened now -- it was building a Horse Archer and I didn't pay attention to it until it was completed.

This is the first time I've played this mod (It rocks so far!) and would really like to get this sorted out. Am I unique w/ this bug -- I assume it's a bug -- or have there been any other reports? I looked back a few pages but, well, you can probably understand why I'm not going to pour thru thousands of posts. :crazyeye:

Any ideas?
