ibcoltscrew -> I will add the leaderhead to the mod only in case it is an high quality 3D animated leaderhead, like the sween32's or the R8FXT's. If that isn't the case, it will remain an optional. I would have prefered Louis XIV because he's more representative of France than Napoleon, who instead lasted only 20 years. But if you find Napoleon easier, that's ok for me.
I am someone who always want to reach the perfection... i hope you know what i mean... it mean that i am not going to do a leaderhead if i can't find how to make one in high quality... I am actually looking for a prgoram that edit FLC file but the only thing i can find free is FLC viewer. I can make a non animated leaderhead in VERY HIGH quality cause i'm a graphics designer and i know photoshop very very well (working with photoshop since 5 years). But now i have to find how to make a animated leaderhead with a high quality image. ;)

BTW, it doesn't matter to me to make napoleon or Louis XIV, it's your mod so it's your choice... :mischief:

ib, if you can make it animated, I could make a civ3 cartoon-style face with the Pro Evolution Soccer 3 editor. It's very easy for me to do, but then you should change it from a football (soccer) player to a king :)

This is me as military advisor

ibcoltscrew -> I know in WW2 France sucked. But their importance in history has no doubt. In XVIII and XIX Centuries it was perhaps the most important nation of the world, tied with England.
France is still one of the most important and powerfull nation on earth :D For exemple, France is the primary nation for the UN, there is more French soldier then any other country in the United Nation... that's why France have a lot to say when the USA talk about war against Irak. Jacque Chirac is a personnal friend of Sadam Hussein. France have a lot of good quality but for the war thing, they suck... like the american, they are good at making war but they suck for everything else, if they don't like something or someone, the only and primary solution is to destroy it...

To be honnest with you, i think Russia is the perfect civilization and that's the GOOD ONE. They could kill anyone, invade any country, destroy any civilization, bombard any country with Nuclear bomb but they are not doing it...Like Canada is one of the best because we don't do/start/declar war, we just help everyone and for free, the UN have 48 mission complete around the world... Canada did most of them (40 mission complete). The Canadian in afghanistan are from Quebec and some are from the rest of Canada... my brother is there and they are from Valcartier base (quebec, canada)... it's 5 minute (by car) from my home... We are working with Russia, Pologne, German and Japanese there... :) All that to say that people from Quebec are people from France... we are kinf of French-American... we like peace (france) but we can make war (usa) if it's REALLY needed.

Sry about all that stuff, i really like the story subject. :D

Thats a very good idea, i can try to make it animated if you make the cartoon profil face :) let's work in team ;)

I have another problem but this time it's all about the Iroquois... You MUST (not should) remove the barbarian camp near the start point.. I'll tell you why... I start a game with the english and i found a way to cross the sea (by north) i have meet the Iroquois and the year is 1140 AC... They only have ONE town, they can't go to the north cause there is a barbarian camp and almost 20 swordman... they can't go to the south too cause america have already conquer every possible place and the capital of Iroquois have only 2 of Pop... For me, it's BIG probleme cause the Inca are REALLY stronger then the Iroquois and it doesnt make any sense. I just want to make the iroquois better cause if the AI can't do better then that, imagine a human player.

Is that AD or BC?

Rhye I love your MOD! I have yet to play a game all the way though(you keep updating the MOD! ) But my personal favorite is Rome! I am going to start a new game and try to conquer the mediterainian! Wish me luck :goodjob:

tell me, ibcoltscrew, did you try to cross the ocean and had luck? Or did you find a passage? There are 5 ocean tiles between Europe and Greenland; how did you do that?

beernuts->hello and thank you! I will soon post an update ;) but you won't need to re-start again! It's very small ;)

everybody else -> so what's with France? Overpowered or not? Iztvan opinion doesn't matter, because he could beat anybody even with Zulu ;)
:hmm: Hey, what's up with that? I guess I'll have to play as the Zulus and loose to prove you wrong and get the right to have an opinion... er, what? :mischief:

the mod is very nice, and turns go pretty fast for the size of the map and the amount of civilisations

the AI seems a bit weak early on, and still builds heaps of virtually worthless citys
also, from the middle age till modern age i've always been researching at the 5 turn minimum, as have most of my enemies

i quit at the begining of the 20th century, because the outcome was decided anyway, and the turns started getting slow

tip for beginners:
early war is the way to go, as settlers are extremely expensive, you get 20 warriors for the price of 1 settler o_O

rhye, very well done

To the north there is a place where it is possible to cross with galey without Magellan's voyage. That was not luck, there is a passage with enough room to make one move and cross the sea with a Galley. like that, i can reach the Iroquois, america, Aztez and Inca very soon in the game... maybe you should fix that :) BTW my Galley was set to "Auto Explore" i will check again but i am almost sure.

I am french and in french it is "Apres Jesus Christ" (AC)... in english it translate After Christ... but it is AD for you guys ;)

iztvan->i was joking

ibcoltscrew->there is a sea corridor, but galleys sink in sea. Can you tell me EXACTLY where it was? Check the map.

KYA->thank you. My efforts recently were aimed to raise difficulty level, but AI wastes extra units sending them around to destroy barbarian camps, leaving the cities wth only 2 units. Warrior code is no longer a starting tech to postpone archers, and the human player starts with no worker, but it seems that it isn't enough. Any suggestion is welcome to make a rush more difficult, and incentivate a player to build settlers instead of 20 warriors, early in the game

I have check the map and i'm confuse like you, i just don't understand why my Galley pass the line to the north set to AutoMode... The only thing i remember was that Iroquois contact and i notice that my Galley was there  I have start a new game and it can't pass  I will take a screenshot if it happend again.

Maybe that was me i was high too cause i just don't remember  !!!

Well lets see, if you built The Great Lighthouse you could make it to south America via the Mid oceaninic ridge that goes just past an offshore island near portugal, but I don't see how it could make it accross the space to Greenland! Maybe a little luck when it was on an ocean square?? The game as Rome isn't going as well as I hoped it would :( Its the late middle ages on Monarch and I am one tech behind France and even with England. Those AI's are tough to keep up with! I only managed to build 2 wonders: Great Library(saved my life!) and Leonardo's workshop. I didn't go for any early conquests and now my economy is suffering I have 5 cities total and no colonies. I think I shall start the game again, but who to play as...

Hey Rhye, great mod.
I've been playing it quite a bit lately. My fav civ is the Greeks. Early on you can take out the Romans and Byzantines easily, and move on to Spain and Portugal.
A few little things I've noticed.
1. Portugal, in all my games I've played, have never expanded out beyond their starting location. Everyone else goes and settles cities at other places, but they are always only there. That plus their proximity to Spain means that they only have 3, 4 cities max.
2. Iroquois never expand very much, for a reason unknown to me. I've never played them, so I'm not sure why.
3. There need to be more civs in south America, and maybe less in Europe. Europe gets very crowded very quickly, while The south of the world stays isolated for a long time. Maybe an Australian civ? Of course Australia would need better terrain....

Anyway, these are some casual observations. You really have done an awesome job of it, and I salute you.

Now Rhye just because you have an awesome map doesn't mean you can make up words!

 I hadn't a dictionary near and thought that this was the tranlation. I know that the word "incentive" exists and I though that that was the verb. :) it is "motivate/boost" instead.

beernuts->no you can't, because lighthouse now gives only a +1 movement, and no more safe sea travel. Otherwise you could cross the bering strait easily...
about the difficulty level, keep in mind that european civs are easier, african and american are an hard challenge. You should match the right level with the right civ. For example Incas with regent, Germany with Demigod, etc.

duskfghter->thank you for the feedback, I'll keep that in mind. On the civs distribution matter, I won't add/remove any other civ. In past I explained that to do that I need a good 3D animated era-specific leaderhead, a good UU, a good KU and civilopedia entries. And I won't put in Australia and remove portugal or dutch for a matter of historical importance.

I'd like to know from you rushers, which units do you usually attack with, in the early war that solves your game.
