Rick Perry

I really don't understand his reluctance to share with the media when he is armed and when he isn't.
What business is it of theirs if he is engaging in Constitutionally protected practices?

Or if he would continue do so if he ever did become an elected official in a city where it is prohibited, like Washington DC.
Heh, just read an article about that. He could just sign an executive order allowing the President to carry a firearm in the city!

They might accidentally be shot, as another person has been by an incompetent politician wielding a firearm.

Do you approve of the president circumventing whatever legal statutes he pleases?

Since it is his right to carry a concealed weapons, and he apparently does so at least some of the time, I really don't understand his reluctance to share with the media when he feels the need to be armed and when he doesn't. Or if he would continue do so if he ever did become an elected official in a city where it is prohibited, like Washington DC.

Washington DC's law is unconstitutional anyway so its none of my concern. I'd be perfectly OK with the President making DC reverse its law.

@Forma: Well he wouldn't be. An executive order carries the weight of law. That said, yeah, I do have issues with it as a general rule if a President just exempts himself from things. But regarding a gun? No, cuz Washington, D.C. is violating the rights of its citizens anyway with the ban, so who cares what they think.

Carrying a concealed weapon is not covered by the Second Amendment. If it was, all the laws prohibiting same in many states and cities would have been declared unconstitutional long ago.

But this thread isn't about the Second Amendment. It is about Rick Perry.

:goodjob: this is what I'm trying to say.

@Formaldehyde- It is too. Americans have the right to carry firearms. ANY regulations on that fact violate its status as a "Right."

Jesus christ you get way more exciting politicians then us.
We got Eton rioters or sons of Marxist academics :(

If some guy turned up with a shotgun and started talking about the inalienable right to wield a firearm I would vote for him in a heartbeat..

You can own a shotgun and I think if your an Ex-Police officer or Serviceman living in Northen Ireland your allowed a pistol. Obviously I would much prefer the rules to be a tad looser so I can get my hands on ma AK47 xD

IIRC in England the police don't even use guns.

And yeah, being able to own an AK-47 would be nice. That won't happen in England though. Heck, I'll be surprised if that happens in the US.

Oh they do some of them. Your average police officer will not carry but if your go to Hearthrow Airport or on the platforms of major railway stations like Paddington, you always see a Police Officer in black combat gear and carrying clearly some sort of assault rifle.

You just made me wish I lived next to an airport or major railway station in England.

To each their own. I would prefer those guys over nutjobs standing at DC streetcorners calling Obama Hitler and that the ACA was the Reichtag Fire.:(
That said, you guys do get those awsome yelling matches in the House of Commons. We just get snide potshots on the floor.

I take it you approve of permitless concealed carry?

Ignore the tea-drinking wusses in the UK. Move to Algeria: See people using those weapons!

I HAVE TO MOVE TO THE UK! THAT WAS AWSOME!

Isn't Hague currently the Foreign Minister?

Cameron is that bad?

Cameron is a poser. He is the Conservative Tony Blair. Good at PR, relatively good looking for a politician and can charm the pants off the press. He's a populist to the core too. I can't stand him for that.

William Hague, everytime he opens his mouth good common sense comes out (maybe, except for the Libya issue). He is the bone, gristle and muscle of old skool conservatism and common sense.
