[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

That sound bug is annoying me so much. Are you guys having it? Music and other effects suddenly stop and don't come back into you restart the game.

reloading is all I have to do to take care of it. Still a long load time, but better than restarting.
 
I don't think I experience that sound bug. Sometimes effect sounds are not played, but musics and ambients seems always be playing.
 
Did Macedon have that great scientist that gives extra healing? I forget the exact amount, but it increases the amount healed per turn

That's a medieval era great scientist, we were barely in classical era.

Nope. As I said, his units near my city were still damaged.

It seems to get worse later in the game. I don't think I've had it at all pre-Renaissance, but in late eras I have to reload the game about once every 30 minutes.

In my first game I had this problem in the industrial and modern era, then it didn't happen anymore. Second game same thing, it started in the industrial era. I still in the modern era, so far the problem persist.

He might have been at war with Australia. But I don't see how that matters when we know he couldn't have conquered a wonder (as the other units were still damaged).
 
Mac (and Linux soon probably) are now qa testing their own versions of R&F.
 
Also, they just put up another PC qa build. There might be another hotfix or a patch in the works.

I hope we're getting some more era moments and maybe adjustments to era score needed to keep/improve the balance.
 
Then I think I might be thinking incorrectly. I know about these, but I was under the impression as others were that after the base game notes, there would be R&F notes.

There is no official summary of all changes to vanilla features in R&F.
 
Speaking of Mac news I forgot to mention that earlier today Aspyr-Blair responded to a question on the Steam thread about whether there were news on cross-platform. He said:

"Actually there is :) Today we got it working with a Mac host. Still borked if Windows is the host, but if 1 works, we are on the right track.

I should stress this does not mean we will be able to get x-plat into Rise and Fall. We are still shooting for that goal however, and today's progress is promising.”

Hopefully they’ll get it done this year. Meanwhile, I am loving R&F on Nvidia’s Geo Force Now. I love the now part. :D

Yeah, I'm playing that way as well, even though I actually have my Mac bootcamped. It's easier than switching though, and the game looks much better than on my weaker graphics card on my laptop. Oddly turn times themselves aren't actually much different though.

Biggest issue is there's sometimes minor lag and I end up with a unit going to some crazy place I never intended it to.
