So has anyone created this "community wide" poll to ask if we want more DLCs after the expansion? And if this DLC can contain the more 'conflicted' Civs like Canada, Georgia and Venice/Italy?
Hopefully with good results, it might reasure or persuade Firaxis to do so. Hopefully there won't be bad results...
Can I chime in loving the idea of a colonist vs a settler? Higher chance of rebellion (hopefully forming a new civ) but super cheap and easy to claim overseas resources. Maybe colonist creates a 7 hex (center + 1 ring) and all resources inside the ring are automatically assumed to be connected to trade network with no builder required? But as they grow you definitely risk them revolting.

How about a unit that can settle only on continents that the civ's capital is not on? That unit would also be capable of defending itself, unlike the settler.
That's it. God of Kings and I should be hired as creative forces for the 2nd and 3rd xpac. Also, you'll get some awesome DLC Civ choices, because reasons.

I thought in the notes provided in the interviews, it detailed saying that the 8 new Civs would have 2 unique districts, 4 unique buildings and 2 unique tile improvements between them; but I was wrong! It is in fact:
two unique buildings
four unique improvements
and two unique districts
So we so far know of 1 building (Ordu), 2 improvements (Polder and Cree-improvement) and 1 district (Seowon)
This means the last 4 Civilizations must have between them 1 building, 2 improvements and 1 district.
Also the devs mentioned the following questions about new Civs:
“Is this region of the world represented?”
“Is this time in history represented?”
“Is this represented/revered in previous Civilization games or totally new?”
One of the Devs also mentioned how there is a leader who has an ability directly tied to the ages system, specifically mentioning "she". So far we've not had a leader directly related to the ages system, let alone a female.
With people's fanaticism with Tamar the Great of Georgia, I finally looked into her on Wikipedia and see that she was known for being at the peak of the Georgian Golden Age; shielding against Invasions, pacifying coups (by her husband) and founding a new empire for her relatives in Trebizond in the wake of Byzantium crumbling.
The more I look into it; the more I can see Tamar and Georgia being the leader they are refering to; I can see a leader ability that sees her able to stop her cities from becoming free cities during dark-ages (referring the the coups) but also able to puppet or gain bonuses from neighbouring free cities (referring to the crumbling of Byzantium providing her with Trebizond)
Going back to the last unique district; we should expect it to be that of a district we have not seen yet; but it could also be the first district to have multiples of (We've already seen this duplication in the form of Norway's Stave Church and Khmer's Prassat being both unique Temple buildings). In the case that they are new unique districts, then we have the options of:
Encampment
Commercial Hub
Aerodrome
Spaceport
Government Plaza
I doubt we would see a unique Spaceport, due to the nature of it being a victory condition and coming in so late to the game; however I do not see the Aerodrome being ruled out of the equation. Bellow are my thoughts for possible unique:
Encampment - I'm surprised Macedon or Mongolia did not have this; especially the latter as it would suggest a more nomadic feel having tents as the district rather then random tents within a stagnant district. I'm unsure who this could belong to but I can only image a warmongering Civ like the Zulu or another Civ to use it for alternative purposes like Carthage - currently Cathage's City-State suzerain ability gives you an additional trade route capacity per encampment you have built; could this mean you will get trade route bonuses in a city with an encampment? -perhaps adjacent bonuses to Harbour and Commercial Hub districts too?
Commercial Hub - Again, anyone's game but I can see this belonging to either the Ottomans, Morocco, Ghana or Mali. Some sort of Bazaar to represent the economic/trade powerhouses that these nations/empires were known for.
Aerodrome - Although coming in late in the game, the Aerodrome is not completely out of the question; being a unique district it will be half the price to build and could provide bonuses to allow it's buildings and/or aircraft to be built quicker too becoming more relevant; not to mention that this unique district could even be introduced earlier on in the tech tree giving more passive bonuses; or if the Civ that get's this unique district also gets a unique biplane which could also come earlier (like in Nationaism). Of course the question then comes to ask which Civilization would have a unique aerodrome district; I believe the only answer to that question is Canada. Known for also using seaplanes, and lakes instead of airfields, it's huge contribution to the RAF in WW1 and WW2, and still being integral with the current aircraft industry, I believe Canada would be the most versatile Civ for air-units now that we already have America and England/Britain in the game.
Government Plaza - despite only being buildable once; this district is most likely never going to have a unique replacement with only 2 acceptations; 1. the bonus is so strong that it's worth building it, but you can only build it once. Or 2. the Civ that has it, can only have 1 City; going back to the fanatical idea of Venice being a 1-city-challenge with "puppets" in the form of city-states or conqured/traded Civilizations cites that give you very limited choices at what they can do, you can most likely build a "Piazza San Marco" to build your government buildings in (in Venice; Piazza San Marco is home to the Doge's Palace, St Mark's Basilica (previously the Doge's Chapel) and could also see a 3rd government building if it desired.)
So what do we expect for the first week of 2018? I think chances are pretty high we'll see:
1) teaser for the Cree on Tuesday. (A consensus on who the leader will be will follow within a few hours)
2) Cree first look on Wednesday.
I'd give us a lower chance of a wonder video on Friday, but if I have to guess I'll say we will see one, the Antarctic one.
I could definitely see a Malian CH. Being able to be built at half the time would speak volumes to Mansa Musa's wealth, aside from whatever other benefits it could have.
If Mongolia didn't have a unique encampment, I doubt we'll see one this time around - possibly for the Ottomans, I suppose? I could definitely see another Harbor district (Carthage, Ottomans).
Could use an unique fort improvement for Georgia, though I don't know enough about Georgian history to really speak to this.
Edit: Oooh, that theory leaves the Inca off my list and I'd be surprised if they didn't return in the first expac. I don't know which of the above Civ's they'd replace (Mali, Carthage, Ottomans, Georgia), but they would definitely get the Terrace Farm improvement back. There's no doubt.
