[R&F] Rise and Fall Live Stream General Thread

I'm not sure this was working as described - Quill seemed doubtful he would get the production.
Well, look at the positive.

If it's NOT fixed, and it literally gives you a notification telling you that you got the production, they'd be FORCED to hotfix it because the cake would be a lie, instead of merely an implied lie if you were looking for it.

It's still not my first choice for a Chinese Natural wonder. :p It's not even located in the historical Chinese heartland, it's in Gansu...
All it has is the beauty, but not the cultural or spiritual significance like certain other Chinese mountains.
I'm pretty ok with this choice. To me the places worth a "natural" wonder name are Huanglong (the cascading ponds in Sichuan), Zhangjiajie (super crazy spikes of mountains), and this Danxia. The fact that most famous mountains are taken by Buddhism or Taoism temples are tricky choices because you can't say they are famous for their natural features or rather these famous temples, although they are very culturally valuable.
By the way, why we don't see any waterfall wonder? Should be good to have one, such like Niagara Falls, spawn next to lake with river.

Mount Roraima is getting added in R&F, and it has some small waterfalls on it in-game.
I think the larger ones (Iguazu, Niagara, Victoria) might be harder to pull off.

Seems the same? I thought someone reported it was changed.

They fixed it. =O

What about cede and the occupied penalty, did anyone noticed if it still exist or if it was fixed?

OMG THEY FIXED IT

OMG OMG OMG

Sorry, what did they fix? I'm seeing that Wonders you miss out on now refund production, but that seems like a new feature. Was this supposed to be in the game and was just broken?

The overflow would only carry over before if you had already selected a new item to build.

Yes. The code has always existed, but basically relies on you having something else queued for the production to carry over.

In essence, if you KNEW you were about to lose a wonder race, and you switched production to a district, and then they completed the wonder, you'd get the production boost. It (supposedly) works in-game right now.

The problem is, you don't get a warning. So you usually find out when they actually complete the wonder. And since there is no production queue, the production bonus (which you get, according to the game code!) just kind of... disappears.

@Victoria I believe is the one that discovered it.

Others reported the change from +1 to +2 and my notes have it previously at +1. Maybe it changed previously in a patch?

@Giskler Have you been seeing any new Age Dedications?
I haven't been looking specifically for them, but from what I've seen they all seemed familiar. I can try to keep an eye out.

Another world wonder confirmed for you. Hunting for Pink Lake now :)
I'm surprised this is in as a "natural wonder" when the Wikipedia article on it seems to suggest that its significance derives from the amount of artifacts and ancient structures there (over 40000 archeological sites). Still notable but not because of "nature"

I guess it's unique in that it's the northernmost desert and southernmost (in the northern hemisphere) tundra

I'm guessing Firaxis stumbled upon it while doing research for Mongolia.

So, there was a fair amount of chopping in Quill's playthrough. Seemed as good as ever (which is never as awesome IME as people crack it up to be). Shaved a few rounds off of the hee-LAR-ious failed attempt at Petra.
